Could have left it at that.
Apparently we’re not the only ones who think so.
I might well regret this … but I am intrigued to know how Blair’s policies set Brexit in motion.
I was curious about this myself.
The Honours list is yet another one of those antiquated pieces of garbage that needs binning off along with the whole concept of a royal family.
Born into privilege and some God given right to believe you’re somehow so superior to everyone else that you get to judge people and dish out awards. Fuck off and sort out your own house.
We’re still paying the price for Tony Blair’s vanity, greed and folly (msn.com)
Came across this earlier if it is of interest to anyone…!
When people from the A8 countries were allowed free movement to live and work abroad in the early 2000’s Britain, Ireland and Sweden were the only 3 states that didn’t impose restrictions on numbers allowed in and criteria to live and work there.
Blair’s government massively under-estimated how many migrant workers would flood into the country, they were expecting 10’s of thousands rather than the 3 million who eventually came. They weren’t too concerned though, they’ve since admitted they saw them as future Labour voters who would ensure a Labour government for years to come. That worked out well didn’t it?
So why did that set Brexit in motion you ask? Well, and this is just my opinion, Brexit was a vote on immigration. People spouted nonsense about taking back control, spending our EU contributions on the NHS instead etc but it was mainly bollocks because they were too scared to say what they really thought. Like most things in this fucking shithole of a country immigration has become a taboo subject for many as any genuine concerns about numbers, lack of infrastructure i.e housing, schooling, healthcare, policing, roads etc are met with accusations of racism and bigotry.
The vast majority of leave voters voted on immigration but felt compelled to give other reasons when asked why. Certainly in enough numbers to carry the vote. Imo anyone who thinks otherwise is naive.
Fwiw, because I know from experience how these arguments pan out, I am not in any particular camp on this and don’t necessarily hold the views I’ve put forward, it’s just how I see it.
Comparing someone who actually made decissions and acted to one that the less they do the more popular they become. Putain!
Had a shave and clipped the top off one of those deep rooted, invisible, under-the-skin cells of shite, and now I look like a mid-80’s Dusty Rhodes vs Ric Flair cage match.
Supposed to be meeting a friend in town on the hour. There’s another advantage of supporting a team that wears red.
The queen (as a parent) is to some extent responsible for her childrens’ actions. That said, she has been spectacular as a monarch.
Crows.
Fucking noisy bastards, ruining my bank holiday lie-in.
Tis the wind and nothing more…
They’re murder……
Only if there’s probable caws.
(Genuinely hate myself).
“The requested media is not available in your country”.
TV companies have to make money so I’m not objecting directly about that but copyright management can just go straight into Room 101 and stay there.
I had wanted to watch Danny Boyle’s new series “Pistol”. It’s on Disney+. I have a subscription to that. However, it is not available to viewers in Germany for reasons that they are not advertising. It isn’t available on any other service, paid for or otherwise. I am actually paying good money for a service that they are not providing. And then they have the temerity to complain about people pirating content.
We see this with the football. I can actually watch all our games on German subscription services but many, including those living in Liverpool, end up having to watch games on pirate services because they can’t get match tickets and there is literally no legal way of watching the match. They can’t get the games for love or money - well, with the pirate services they can for the love of it but not for the hard earned cash.
Next time I hear complaints about pirating, the execs can stick their complaints up their arses.
Can you not route through a vpn? If that sounds like witchcraft, have a look at surfshark’s website. Easy to find a code that reduces payment to less than £3 a month.
I can do, but why should I for a service that I have actually bloody paid for?
All about license deals, I use one all the time.
I have done that myself when traveling with services I already pay for but are unavailable where I am. It is a hassle and very hit or miss - providers are catching up at detecting the vpn and proxy servers and blocking service through them.
I understand but get really annoyed that I can’t watch a service I pay for simply because I am too far from home.
