Didn’t expect to win, proud of the performance on the day. Ref dogshit. French dirty bastards
An incredible effort, great crowd of supporters. Be proud!
I was going say must have spent hours coming up with that.
Feels like they’re trying to move the game away from what the core supporter based likes and into something for a younger generation.
All fluffy round the edges when the real problems lie in the product and distribution of funds from the RFU down to clubs.
Even for a semi final Tigers aren’t selling out Welford Road. Ticket prices have crept up and up and up to the point it’s a treat to go a couple times a year rather than every other week.
One of the best things Tigers used to offer was a live band after the game. Kept people in the stadium and putting money over the bar. That’s just been ditched and now most of the bars are empty as the cost of beer is ridiculous.
A silly name change and a new badge is nothing but lipstick on the pig at this stage. Game needs proper reform. Clearer rules to make the game more accessible for casual viewers, more work at grass roots with schools, better distribution of cash and a massive broom to sweep the “tweed blazer clad committee” types out of the RFU. They should be working on behalf of clubs not just the cash cow that is the national team.
Scrappy final so far, Bath deserve their lead but both teams seem off it today.
It’s on itv1 for any who fancy watching it.
Congrats to bath on seeing it out, great season for them to win a treble
Clearly the best team this season but think Tigers really let a chance to win this slip through their fingers.
Didn’t really play much rugby after that first try until the game was pretty much gone. Thought the yellow for Cole was harsh and Russell acted like a footballer in over egging it. Sad way for a great servant to go out and ultimately cost them the game in that moment.
Also a ridiculous decision to kick the ball back to Bath with just minutes left on the clock.
Be very interesting to see how Tigers go next season. Yet another new head coach, losing some experienced stalwarts and a stop gap 10 coming in. Could be a bit of a tough season with so much change on the cards and Parling in his first head coaching role.
Entertaining start between the Lions and Argentina
Semi finals of the Top 14.
2 big clashes Toulouse Vs Bayonne Toulouse looking stronger however Bayonne very pragmatic.
Tomorrow Bordeaux Bègles vs Toulon the biggy for me.
Deserved win for the argies
Watched the Top 14 final yesterday evening. A really good match between Toulouse and Bordeaux Bègles. Went to extra time despite Bordeaux Bègles suffering 2 yellow cards.
Toulouse won 39-33 after this extra time.
Fortunately Dupont didn’t start, injured, which has evened up the final stage matches. Not a bad thing even if watching Dupont is a real previledge he just gives such a big advantage to the team he plays for.
We dont get any Rugby coverage here so the Lions tour has creeped up on me, and so far almost everything I have read is over the “controversy” of naturalized foreign players. This feels like a ruse from the Aussies that the British press are eating up rather than treating it for what it is. Australia have benefited greatly from mining the Polynesian countries for talent. Yet here they questioning the Lions for the foreigners on their team, with those comments coming from a head coach who himself is not even a fucking Aussie.
One thing I learned from a brief holiday return to Australia many moons ago is that when it comes to sport, I’m not sure of any other nation that has media and governing body support to such an extreme as these. Sledging in cricket was probably bred from that. It’s not a million miles away from Manchester City’s antics being honest.
I did the 2001 Lions tour there, and after being embarrassed at both the scoreline and red stadium in the first test in Brisbane saw rent a crowd in full swing for the second in Melbourne.
Otherwise I’m simply struggling to get into it.
I’m loving it. Don’t give a fuck about the mind games. Find it fascinating how a group of lads that are used to smashing the shit of each other can come together as a team (or not)
Yeah, I think its the time difference thing more than anything. We’ll see when more ganes come along. I’m keeping up through reports but just havent taken the step to watch anything live.
Why oh why did I get up at 5:45 to watch that turd pf a game against Japan. 14th in the world rankings and still going. 18 losses
Hard to see the light for Wales atm, cant even say it’s a depleted squad for the lions. At every level they seem to be struggling, and it’s hard to see how they stop it
Honestly, right now I have no idea where the bottom is.
They were poor but doing enough against a Japan side that was also poor. Then they gifted Japan first phase possession and then control of the game. It doesnt take much to turn the tide against us. And low confidence levels dont help either.
Japan again this Saturday before our first 4 games in next years 6 nations. Those games are England, France, Ireland and Scotland. Italy is the last game. Losing another 6 or even 7 on the trot is entirely possible.
