Someone is blatantly taking the piss here; I mean, a couple of people thinking Uruguay would beat Hungary is bad enough, but now we have votes for the USSR to beat Argentina and Iran to beat the Netherlands. 
Come clean, whoever you are… and don’t try to justify it by saying that it’s just an opinion. Someone could hold the opinion that Victoria Beckham is a better author than William Shakespeare; doesn’t mean it isn’t a load of bollocks.
Some of mine were sentimental but hey ho.
There are a couple of obviously sentimental votes in there and some recency bias.
And that all Brazil tie - 1970 Brazil are the greatest team ever. End of story.
The only prediction I can make is there will be no draw ever in the TANAWC 2022.

I will close the first round voting at the end of the Brazil v Serbia game tomorrow; the second round of group fixtures will be posted on Friday morning.
Brazil 82 team is the greatest team I have ever seen, which is ironic as stated they never won it, but to watch they were just on another level , and if they were all around today in their prime , personally I think they would walk it (although England fans would disagree because they beat Iran and therefore think they are winning it )
However, they lost in the second round matches to Italy, the eventual winners. Do we pick the winners based on who we think ought to have won or whose tactics would win out on the eventual day?
Another example of this is with the Netherlands who lost out to a talented, but arguably not as technically advanced, West German side in 1974. In fact the team I picked out, Scotland 1978, beat the Dutch in their group game but fluffed the group with poor results against lesser teams.
Yeah it’s strange how we remember different players and teams from yesteryear etc, but when I first saw zico, falco and Socrates (Oscar as well ?)…they were something else , would have loved to have seen them play in our team back in the day alongside our own greats.

I just voted what reminded me of that World Cup in that particular year.
I am boycotting this world cup as East Asia is not even represented.
I did nominate Australia to represent Asia, but was rudely ignored, which I can only put down to the organisors being corrupt or racist - I’ll let you make up your own mind on that 
I think Singapore 1977 is great. Not really the football team but I was born then.
