In case the following result stands, will it be a draw, even if the draw option lose out?

That would be a draw.

The draw option in the poll is for when people cannot make up their minds, and will not be available in the knockout stages.

Doesn’t need defining, your photograph is under the word in The Oxford English Dictionary :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

What year was it with the Germans that had a prime Lothar Matthias, Klinsmann etc.

That was a hell of side.

Was it 1990? They didn’t make 1994 and the Euro 1996 Klinnsmann wasn’t involved if I remember rightly. That was all about Bierhoff.

Are West Germany 1974 in group C and H?

Typical corrupt World Cup host excuse. No doubt Beckenbauer slipped a couple of Deutschmarks in a brown envelope.

At this stage, I am lost, i am just clicking through the groups.

However hard I try I can’t vote for a Austria 1934 side with good conscience.

They were arguably the first exponents of total football. A team with a fascinating background but, sadly, recency bias counts against them and others in this poll.

Yeah I know it’s more circumstance.

I’ve generally gone for what I know bar the Italian 82 side which I spent a few hours watching some of the footage from that World Cup a few years back and it stuck.

MH - watch some Brazil 70. They revolutionised the game.

As did Hungary before them. And Austria before them. The difference is television.

Yeah has anyone ever done a documentary series it’s probably should be done on each of the world cups.

Unfortunately, there is little footage (or none) of the great teams that existed before television became widely available to the public in the late sixties.

They make documentaries about all sorts though, Henry the VIII has tonnes.

Probably should have been done in the late 80s or 70s so the players were alive to remiss but now it’s going be quite hard.
