Dan Evans has just lost to Tristan Schoolkate in Wimbledon qualifying. That’s one cool name to go through life with.

11 Brits have played in the first round and 11 Brits have lost..all time low..

Not the greatest fan of Serena Williams anyway but I thought she was very ungracious last evening. An arms length barely there handshake and a gritted teeth forced smile and not a single word of congratulation for her clearly very nervous 20 year old opponent.

She then did not turn up for her post match presser and has now made vague allusions to a knee injury…

Not always about you Serena. Have some humility..

That really surprised and annoyed me as well. I was expecting her to go hug the young one who is a self-professed Serena fan and she just stuck her hand out with a clearly fake smile.

I don’t think that’s happened since before Henman where no Brit has made the second round.

Missed Arthur Fery progressing anyhow glad we at least have one Brit in the second week. Well played lad.

2 French parents and born in France but hell I am claiming him as a true blue Brit. We can’t be too choosy…

Guess Tuchel is more Brit than Fery :grimacing:

You can’t get more English than a lad called Arthur though.

Like Arthur Ashe.

Exactly and

It’s very noticeable to me that the men, especially when they’ve had a tough encounter against each other, make sure to hug each other and let each other know their respect and appreciation. The women seem to be very standoffish and almost done angry at why the other person’s beaten them and just finished the match with a very cold handshake. Noticed it again today with Iga and eala.

Another win for the Frenchman (British) Fery

Noticed a few subtle changes this year, might have been implemented previously but can’t say I’ve noticed.

For a start, Elton John and his team are no longer in use…

And that fucking annoying countdown to finding out the result of disputed line calls has gone.
Much more streamlined and enjoyable.

I felt a bit bad for Grigor

Never heard of him until about 3 days ago.
Just Googled him, passing himself off as a British tennis player is stretching things as far as they can be stretched.
He’s French, which cannot be disputed

One of the commentators yesterday said something along the lines of, “The way he moved there resembled Jordan Pickford”

Like, dived for the ball after it had gone, and never moved towards a podium in his life?
