The TV Thread redux

I haven’t seen Orville so can’t really comment but the original Star Trek was one of the most overtly political series made. It’s just that it was 1960s politics so it isn’t immediately obvious.

Have anyone watched the Polish series The Green Glove Gang on Netflix?

Is that the new, environmentally friendly take on The Red Hand Gang?

Another really good show to watch with the wife… School of Chocolate on Netflix.

This show is hosted by Amauri Guichon. He is best described as a genuis when it comes to working with chocolate. He creates masterpieces and makes it look completely effortless.

For example the below is one of his creations. There is no cardboard like Cake Boss does, theres nothing in this at all except for chocolate…

He is also a really good follow on tiktok for those of you who use it.

Anyway, the show us your typical Masterchef style set up but a major difference is that no one gets sent home. This is a ‘school’ so the competitors (who are all really good professional chefs in their own right) don’t flame out but instead the bottom two chefs are given private lessons by Guichon while the others compete in days big challenge. Its a different vibe and Guichon is very friendly and encouraging, not faking outrage or disgust like most cooking shows.

I’m only two episodes in but I recommend it.

As it happens they’re union minded die hard socialists so make your own mind up.

Your teenage rebellion phase isn’t supposed to last into your 50s.

Started season 2 of Your Honour, interesting so far.
See, I’ve spelt it correctly.

Have i just seen Joel Matip in a car advert…

Hopefully not

Season 1 was a bit meh(carried on for Cranston) 2 is much better.

Re Last of Us. No love, use a fucking grenade not an ancient Zippo. Fuck’s sake.

It’s just been released in the US on netflix. We watched the first one last night and were crying laughing.

One of the TV channels in my region started a re-run of Counterpart - it has to be one of the most underrated TV shows of all time and it’s a crying shame that it got cancelled. There’s a bit of a pattern in recent years that whenever a TV show requires more focus from the audience, it gets cancelled.

Oh FFS!

I think was more the Network it was on. I havent seen it, but the reviews have put it on my list to check out, and you’d think it is the sort of show to find a good following on streaming, where some of the more traditional rules about what works and the safe decisions that are made to meet them, wouldnt apply. Starz is small though and really needs to find a deal with one of the bigger networks and go back to being a production company (Lions Gate TV) rather than a service.

Saw your post and decided to give it a go as something to watch with the family after supper this evening. We’re all really enjoying it.

If this was a PC game, where are all the guns? They were in a massive weapons and ammo store and he’s down to a hand gun? Did he never watch Commando? Some stupid choices in this show.
