I’m only up to episode 3 but I’m enjoying it too. It’s not groundbreaking or anything but it is perfectly fine.
I was just thinking that too - Netflix just can’t wait to cancel shows
I’m really annoyed they’ve cancelled Kaos, it was so good
That surprised me too given the reviews all seemed to think it was an excellent show.
Did they really? That surprised me as it seemed to generate buzz, indicating people were watching it. Which is difficult to achieve these days of fractured services and non-linear tv
It just seems to be about numbers for Netflix, they’d don’t seem to even consider reviews. Kaos spent time in their top 10, but not enough time there, it seems.
Disappointing.
Yeah, confirmed a couple of weeks back, not renewed for S2.
yep, needed at least one/two more eps…
for me it felt rushed, not sure why hugo weaving just gave up the ghost and the gun at the end…i get he had the fail safe, but it still didnt play out well …maybe becuase there was less than ten minutes to go, but yeah, as like season three, the ending was quite underwhelming…
having the terminator run around for a while was a bit basic too, could easily have had a few more sons and had them gettign picked off, would have enhanced the story, not detracted from it, in my mind…
nah, for me it would have been better served going on a bit longer…some pretty rushed content in there…see above…
I lasted 2 episodes and thought Kaos was rubbish. Maybe I’m alone here.
Had to quickly move back to football replays and Messi’s hat trick was much better viewing for me.
Slow Horses on the other hand was great.
Looking for something new tonight.
We have been watching “Ludwig” which is a detective series on the BBC featuring David Mitchell.
The premise is that he is a newspaper puzzle setter (known by the pseudonym Ludwig) who impersonates his twin brother, who is a detective, after his brother goes missing.
It follows a mystery of the week format in which he solves various crimes using his puzzle solving skills whilst trying to uncover the ongoing mystery of his brothers disappearance.
I thought it was light and fun. My wife found similarities with the US series “Monk”. The soundtrack is made up of variations of various themes by Beethoven which is a bonus.
Anyway, it is on the iPlayer if you are interested.
I forgot to ask if you are in the UK? We have been abusing my work’s VPN again!
I described this to my wife and she thought I’d either lost the plot or misremembered a Terry Gilliam animation. I’m guessing that it never found it’s way out of Britain?
My sister and I still say “Ah, Ludwig!” at random moments.
Yes, we’re sad.
We got half way through episode one. Mrs likes soaps and rom coms, jnr partial to same plus sci-fi and fantasy, I’ll watch anything that isn’t a romcom soap with judges. Pretty broad We all thought it was pants. How do you make a bad show with Jeff Goldbloom? And the really annoying thing is that I love Greek mythology
Sydney but thanks for the tip. Will check out our ABC and other streaming.

I’ve watched a few episodes of that too. I also got the ‘Monk’ vibes from it. Also heavily reminded me of the Shakespeare and Hathaway show. Not a great show but like you say light and fun.
Slow Horses season 5 return and news on season 6
Story by Chris Longridge
Note: contains spoilers for Slow Horses seasons 1-4.
The only reliable thing about Jackson Lamb and his squadron of semi-competent MI5 agents is that they will always be back for another season.
Everyone still alive after season four is busy wiping down the walls and taping over the broken windows as they prepare for season five (an adaptation of Mick Herron’s fifth book in the series, London Rules). We’re also levitating with excitement over the news that AppleTV+ has confirmed that season six is greenlit, and will adapt books six and seven, Joe Country and Slough House.
Slow Horses season 5 potential release date
First things first, it’s a definite that Slow Horses will return. Apple TV+ (officially one of our best streaming services) confirmed that a fifth season was commissioned back in January 2024. Not only that, but they confirmed a sixth season is on the way too (this time to be based on two novels, Joe Country and Slough House). Slow Horses is as close to a bankable hit as TV gets right now, and AppleTV+ is very happy to be the bank in question.
But when will we see it? While season one debuted in April 2022, seasons two and three came out in December of '22 and '23 respectively, while the fourth season came a little earlier in September '24.
If we were to assume an annual autumn release window and a year-long production schedule, that means we could reasonably expect the fifth season around September '25 .
However, Gary Oldman confirmed in August 2024 that filming had completed on season five. He told Deadline : “We’ve just finished filming season five and there’s another layer of the onion that is peeled back with Lamb. You find out a little bit more about what went on.”
They don’t hang about on this show – while they were shooting season four, they were writing season five, and when they were editing four, they were shooting five. (Which means that they’re editing five now and writing six.)
That all being so, assuming a maximum six-month editing/post-production cycle, we might see the fifth season arriving earlier in the year than usual, possibly even in the spring of 2025. But that depends on Apple TV+'s corporate plans.
Slow Horses season 5 cast
There’s no show without Gary Oldman as walking binbag Jackson Lamb. Luckily he’s confirmed that he’ll be around till they stop making the show.
Jack Lowden, who plays River Cartwright, revealed a similar outlook to Collider: “As long as it’s still interesting and people are still interested, I think it’s the same with anything. I’d love to do it.”
Alas, Marcus Longridge didn’t make it out of season four, so it’s the last we’ve seen of Kadiff Kirwan around the Barbican. Joanna Scanlan’s role as busybody Moira Tregorian looks like being a one-and-done, so she too is probably not returning.
Slow Horses season 5 plot: London Rules
As surely as night follows day and as an unidentifiable smell follows Jackson Lamb, the fifth season will, as we said earlier, follow Mick Herron’s book series, meaning the plot will be lifted from book five, London Rules.
This means the return of political intrigues involving Samuel West’s Peter Judd (and other populist politicians who we couldn’t possibly connect to any real-life figures), a string of mysterious terror attacks across the country and big trouble for the beleaguered First Desk Claude Whelan.
Much of this was confirmed in the teaser trailer that dropped at the end of the season-four finale, though there appear to be some interesting changes from the book that we won’t go into here for fear of spoilers.
Slow Horses season 5 trailer
As we mentioned above, there is a teaser at the end of the season-four finale, and we’ll put it up here as soon as it’s made available.
