The TV Thread redux

Took me a while…
Tip of my tongue annoyance - Obvious when his name is known though, the resemblance is plain to see

I quit before I got to the end of season one. Just found myself very bored and uninterested.

It has been 24hrs… For anyone interested in his name… will offer a good clue… It becomes so obvious, yet so hard to see it

He appeared with Stallone in one of his films

he was in CSI: MIAMI

David Caruso. First Blood?

Bloody hell. Then again, just lookup up his bio and he is nearly 70.

Apparently he retired in 2012 after CSI: Miami finished.

Is this the series where the married couple, in real life, had legal issues with regards to underage sexual relations? Or is that another series?

not that series…

Wheel of time is high fantasy genre

I think back in the 90’s it was the high fantasy novel/ series wasnt it?

not so sure, i started reading around early 2000’s, its 14 (long books too) book series, very intricate and detailed…including a hell of a lot of inperson thinking…

a TV show was never going to do it justice…but its having a good go at it now

If you ignore the fact that its hardly like anything to do with what robert jordan wrote

The show I’m thinking of was a fantasy, so must have been another show. Have watched the first season of this one.

im a massive fan of WOT and have read the whole series multiple times

my expectations were tempered when the show was announced…theres no way any (projected) 8 series live TV show could even scratch the surface of the world created by Jordan

all the Book fans that are up in arms about it to me have there mindset incorrect, to the point where they shouldnt even bother with the show…

its not the greatest TV ever written, but im happy with where its going…

my mindset from the begginning was to just enjoy a retelling of the story…im actually enjoying that fact more than alot of book fans can grasp…

if the TV show followed exactly the books, id actually be more dissappointed, id know everything that was about to happen…

so whilst its a criticism levelled at the show that is true, its quite a baseless criticism when you step back and realise what your actually asking a show to do by following completely a universe as deep as RJs WOT

If the show tried to follow the books, it would be a huge mess. I’m in between where you are and your ‘book readers’. I’ve read the books multiple times as well. There are some things that bother me because they seemed to change it for the sake of changing it, but it’s all minor stuff really. I’m enjoying the show for mostly the same reasons. I wasn’t expecting a detailed retelling - some things definitely needed to be changed and updated. I hope they continue to get the green light to make seasons, not sure what the plan is right now.

I think I have this one pegged

Nope…although that was a gem
