The TV Thread redux

I haven’t read the books and the first trailer they released didn’t do anything for me, but the latest one I saw looks a lot better - they should have just led with that

Will probably give it a go now, while I wasn’t much bothered before.

Anyone able to answer this?
There were rumours and counter rumours that “The Talisman” was going to be filmed as a mini series.
It was considered too long as a movie, and that the notion of a trilogy in cinemas wouldn’t get the audience?

There were home made trailers galore a few years ago, but it seems to have died off.

Anyone heard/know anything?

It gets better, I really enjoyed end season 1/start of season 2.

Season 3 is a bit mixed.

Nine perfect strangers - had it on as easy watching after some late shifts this week.

I’d give it an extremely generous 5/10 due to the acting (Michael Shannon in particular). The story itself is absolute nonsense.

Back to Fargo season 2 and Succession instead.

Last I heard it had been picked up by Netflix to be developed by the guys who did Stranger Things. Not sure if there was a date mentioned for airing but I seemed to think it was 2022?

Cheers!

Cheers
Probably laziness on my behalf not to look it up.
Thanks!

Hugely disappointed the way it has evolved. I saw the entire thing in the past few months. It’s just gone stupid if I have to use one word for it now.

Sunk cost fallacy is why I end up watching most of the shows till the end :unamused:

Don’t bother with season 4 of that show. It’s so woefully under par compared to what preceded it.

I’ve had the same problem with The Walking Dead and Suits in the past. Literally wasted days of my life getting probably 100 or so episodes in to both shows and realising bar the odd episode each season it’s been the same formulaic shite week after week.

I loved the premise of suits but Mike was amazingly shit as a lawyer for a supposed genius with a photographic memory.

Really? I liked it. It wasnt as funny as the previous ones, but thought the story it told was still good, and I like the way the continue to wrap everything into the same Fargo universe.

I recently binged Foundation, the Apple TV adaptation of Asimov’s most well regarded book series. I was really intrigued for half a season, but felt silly by the end. Just one episode to go now in the first season and hopefully get over this hump they’ve been in the past couple of episodes to make the prospect of the second season seem worthwhile.

Reservation Dogs

This is embarrassing but I started watching S.W.A.T to pass some time. It’s complete bollocks and obviously written by a fat white man and a black man with his tongue right up a fat white man’s arse. Amercican series really are becoming complete dog shit.

Started watching Yellowstone, I am quite intrigued and committed at this stage, 9 episodes in, even though it comes across as over the top. I do have a question if anyone has got beyond 9 episodes, does at least 1 person die per episode? So much death and violence, with an actual storyline, my type of show. No specific spoilers please.

Anyone watched Animal Kingdom?

Started a few days ago. Not the best tv show I’ve ever watched but I like it.

we were exactly the same.

for some weird reason, we liked it. it really offers nothing great, but, whatever…

its up to about series 7456 and to be honest, its pretty shite now…not that it was ever great, but it did have something

For all those Band of Brothers fans out there (absolutely incredible mini-series), they just released a 10 or 11 part podcast that I am really enjoying. It’s very well done with interviews of the actors/writers and a bit more detail on the actual soldiers of Easy Company. I would recommend to anyone who liked the show. Released for 20 yr anniversary of the show.

Thanks I’ll look out for that. Easily one of my favourite shows of all time. Loved the way they ended that show too.
