AFAIK it was Eccleston rather than the showrunners who decided to leave, can’t recall his reason though.
From what he said about the situation, it definitely comes across like he felt he was signing on to do a show that was beneath him so was only going to do the one season.
He has said he fell out with Davies and two producers, citing politics behind the scenes.
I’d have left too based on the acting from the rest of the cast in the two or three episodes I watched.
Don’t forget Sylvester McCoy!
but I gave up after Tom Baker.
Funnily enough I’ve just found out its his birthday today!!

He was OK, but a victim of poor scripts/ budgets and internal politics at the bbc.
Started watching Yellowjackets this week.
It’s seemingly about a group of girls who sink into depravity in an attempt to survive after their plane crashes and no one comes to rescues them. It’s kind of like Lord of the Flies meets Lost, with the show switching between the timeline of the crash and the present day effects the experience had on those who eventually made it home. But the last episode I watched started to hint at some supernatural shit. So not entirely sure what is going on, but so far it’s great.
That’s it, I was a doubter but I’m now fully converted.
Just noticed that Ozark season 4 was released.

Oohh, just last night I think. While this is the final season I did read they’re releasing it as two separate half seasons. not sure why but I know the filming was messed up because of covid
Some botox-bunny just came on me telly on an ad for Celebrity Hunted.
‘I just had a poo in a ditch.’
That’s a hard no from me.
Hard eh?
That looks like your avatar :0)

Anyway, most the news is saying this will be a 5 series arc covering the second age. That’s the period from Melkor’s defeat to Sauron’s slaying by Isildur. That’s a long period of time without all the details fleshed out in the various books. Clearly based on the title, and on the fact that it’s the central theme of the era, they’re focusing on the rings (and presumably the resulting war of the last alliance between men and elves), but there is there is no indication yet how much more of the era they will cover. Will also be interesting to see how much of the first age they feel they need to cover to make sense of it.

Realised last night that I was only 3 episodes into season 3, no idea what happened there (a visit from my son that caused an interruption for something niether of us had seen?).
Anyway it was that I saw a new season was available that I noticed that, strange as I really like it.
Anyone started Archive81? 3 episode in, I’m finding it eerie.
I found it unusual but well worth a watch… 7/10
