The TV Thread redux

It’s a bit like murder she wrote, in that there are so much killing that I am surprised anyone is left. I think the writers have a quota of at least 1 death per episode.

The Moldovan and Ukrainian entries where my favourites. The moldova entry was particularly fun coming after some of the more overly serious entries.

I want to get back into Dark but I find it challenging.

TV in general these days is challenging. I’d rather re-watch Cheers or MASH.

I downloaded all 11 seasons of Bourdain’s “Parts Unknown” and picking my way through it. my favorite of his three shows that went mainstream.

By the third season it was pretty much indecipherable, which in a way made it more relaxing because it allowed you to focus on the big picture, which was coming more and more into focus as that season went on. You could appreciate the shocking turns even if you didn’t understand exactly what had happened or why…and then they landed the plane really nicely IMO

Season 6 of Better Call Saul was a little bit meandery compared to previous ones… all until the midseason finale (ep7). Jesus Fucking Christ on a bike! :exploding_head:

It doesn’t happen often, but my jaw did literally hit the floor at the ending.

Devils series 2

Too complex for me, goes far beyond my capability to understand the industry.

Far too many characters to care about.

Just finished season 2 of Mindhunter on netflix. What a shame they never carried it on as it felt like there was great potential storylines being built for 1 or 2 more seasons

Yeah, it was great. I had a real headfuck afterwards realizing the gritty lead character chasing down these serial killers and inserting himself into cases of racial violence was the same guy who so amazingly played the effete King George in the original case of Hamilton.

I didn’t know that about him.

It was funny, as the woman that joins the team is Aussie - picked up that pretty quickly, but took me ages to work out who she is - she was in the year above me at school. Don’t really rmember too much about her though, just the fact her name when I eventually figured it out was vaguely familiar

No shit! She became known here for Fringe, a fun but absolutely ridiculous sci fi show marketed as X Files crossed with Lost.

Wasn’t a fan of fringe so much. I found the lead actress irritating. Don’t know if it was the actor or the script. Cast otherwise good. Joe and ‘alternate’ Joes always seem to come to a bad end (and every other show he is in?). The father also very good. Really liked the episode with Peter Weller time travelling.

You should see the real vs mindhunter interviews with ed kemper, brilliant casting and acting, creepy.

Yeah, I remember watching a doco a while back and he was one of the cases and the physical likeness of the actor and the real Ed Kemper is what drew me to watch the series.

I was disappointed as I felt the 2nd season left so many open possibilities, and really could have used a 3rd season to tie up the Manson interview as that really felt like they barely scratched the surface on that part

:+1: It has been a cracking season so far, but episode 7 was amazing. Can’t wait for the second half of the season.

OK, no pressure, absolutely no higher expectations than I’ve already had.

100%, it was a very good show.

Hopefully it takes its cue more from the first season than the second otherwise I feel we might be in for a story about the investigation of corruption of toilet paper hording.

1 was outstanding
2 was abysmal
3 was ok

Don’t have any hopes for 4 tbh

I don’t know which was better. Matt McConaghey or Rachel McAdams in the previous interations.
