Yup, I’m pretty sure they’ve said S2 brought the child’s storyline to an end and S3 will move into a new direction… my guess would be the reinstatement of Mandalore (the planet and leader).
The Easter egg part looks to be getting its own spinoff show as well, which will hopefully maintain the quality of The Mandalorian. I fully agree that it’s fantastic, for my money it’s the best anything Star Wars since the original Trilogy (or rather best live-action Star Wars; I’m led to understand the animated Clone Wars and Rebels are highly regarded, and have just started watching the latter).
I loved the look and feel of the whole thing,i watched the behind the scenes making of it last week, totally amazed by the new filming technique of an almost 360 degree 3D VR stage that moved with the camera, seeing what i thought were real places, like canyons, deserts or woods being just a huge stage surrounded by projector screens blew my mind.
I liked Jon Favreau before all this but he’s gone up 10 fold in my estimations, not only for breathing new life into Star Wars, but having the balls to use new ideas and take on board different directors and opinions and use them for the greater good.
I enjoyed The Mandalorian, but I wouldn’t say I loved it - although it was definitely a lot better than the garbage served up in last 3 films.
Just finished watching Don’t Fuck With Cats and Songbird both are pretty good, although DFWC does pose an interesting question in regards to the group of amature detectives and did they cross some lines? I get the impression that there is more that went on than they talked about in the series.
I think I loved Mandolorian as it seemed like proper old school star wars and had one of my fav characters in - Boba Fet.
I like the actor who played the Mandolorian he was excellent in Narcos.
For the new Star Wars story telling and series, I just can’t wait for Thrawn showing up in Live Action series. I was disappointed that Thrawn was not used in the new trilogy.
I came across Grand Admiral Thrawn in the SW Tie Fighter game. His character was further developed by Timothy Zahn in the now Legend series. The animation series brought him back in the canon, with new character development from Zahn.
I wouldn’t agree with that, there’s loads of chess games and talk in the series. I haven’t played Chess for about 20 years so plenty of it went over my head but it’s still an excellent series.
You don’t have to know anything about chess. I like the game, but a lot of the chess talk when over my head. There isn’t that much actual focus on the chess games themselves.
I really related to Queen’s Gambit. My cousin’s daughter (not sure what that makes her to me, 1st cousin once removed?) was made a Chess Grandmaster at the age of 15 just over ten years ago
It was the first time I became aware that there was a Chess Olympiad (she represented South Africa). The Queen’s Gambit could probably have gone even further with the sexism and misogyny angle had they wanted to by all accounts.
No, you don’t, hence the shows popularity. But there is still plenty of focus on the games and on technical talk, and I’d say it’s misleading to suggest there isn’t.
That’s not why the majority are watching it of course, it’s a great story with great acting and it’s incredibly stylish.
