I would recommend you try them both. Millenium was very good but grittier than X-files. It’s rarely on TV or Streaming services in the UK so it would be interesting to see how it holds up. Back in the day i preferred it to X- files.
Yes, very very good stuff. Goes a bit west towards the end but some brilliant episodes.
To me, its worth watching just because how frequently it gets referenced by other people or in shows.
its like Star Wars in that regards.
Oh and there’s also a few now-famous faces that pop up now and again, so you can do this when Ryan Reynolds appears
Used to watch it back in the day, but tbh even then I always thought it was fun but also a bit unintentionally funny at times.
Yes.
It loses steam towards the end with Mulder leaving and then coming back, and the Alien conspiracy becoming less intriguing the more is revealed, but by that time if you’re still watching you’re hooked and dont care.
There’s no chance I get anywhere near 11 seasons anyway, so to hear it goes downhill towards the end doesn’t concern me.
Have 2 weeks off coming up, I’ll be giving it a bash! Probably watch some X files too.
You probably know this, but the show has a central mythology of a conspiracy to hide knowledge of the existence of aliens and alternates episodes that advance that side of it with independent “monster of the week episodes”. The further the shows goes on the more focused they get on resolving the mythology, but there are a couple of points where it feels like it could have been a resolution only for the next season to start and they reopen it. I think that is especially true in the period after Duchovney leaves so you can likely treat that as a natural stopping point if you’re not interested in seeing it through to the end.
I’d go as far as to say that the best monster of the week episode they ever do is the first one about a series of murders in which they can find no explanation for how the killer got in or out of the crime scene.
I’d suggest stranger things first, it’s excellent. The production is brilliant.
Seen it.
Insomnia again, put some GOTs on. Bloody hell it’s good and so well made. Visuals, sets, costumes all exceptional. And that same set they used on Sharpe
It’s no Ring of Power (I haven`t watched it yet(maybe never))
Game of Thrones is the best TV series ever IMHO. Except for the last season, obviously. ROP is just junk.
My favorite series, from the top of my head; is The Foundation. Season 1 was just beautiful and wonderful.
I have GOT loaded up ready to watch 9probably won’t bother as I enjoyed the previous seasons).
ROP is the same loaded and ready to watch (unless the following seasons massively improve in ratings/opinions across the board I won`t bother).
Big brother in the Love Island Kardashian Jungle seems much more compelling
Brilliant.
Not a patch on the books, but very good.
The quality of GOT dropped significantly as soon as they got beyond the source material. Weiss and Benioff were hapless from season four onwards.
Absolutely not as good as the books, nothing ever is, but it comes close to envoking the mood and there is enough dialogue. In GoT, there is a distinct lack of dialogue and while I like that series (first seasons), it only goes from action to action and loses so much of what is interesting with the early books. The foundation is much better scripted and is much deeper.
Yep, as soon as the source ended, the craziness kicked in. Bran??? Really?? The ending of the whole White Walker thing with the Night King was just ridiculous. Loved the idea of the ice dragon but it just fell to pieces.
