The TV Thread redux

I’d argue that the Harry Potter films are as good as the books, brilliantly cast and made.

If I don’t know…

You have my sympathies.

I don’t know if many here watched Westworld (which was fantastic for the first two seasons, tailed off a bit and then rallied again in the most recent season), but the cameo of those two cunts butchering a dragon was a bit on the nose even for my liking.

The arrogant pair of bellends.

First few seasons were really good. I do hope you find Dana Scully, to quote my good friend @Magnus , a walking sex-lust.

On a separate note, I’m watching Supernatural after many years and it doesn’t seem that interesting.

Wouldn’t kick her out of bed for eating crackers, if you know what I mean

Alice Morgan, who isn’t far off my ex-wife when she went from blonde to red. Absolutely delicious villain in BBC’s Luther with Idris Elba

Thats a shame. I loved that show although never got through the last season and a half. I thought the first 6 seasons would have held up somewhat.

No insult to you or your ex, and I know it’s not a popular opinion, but she leaves me cold. She tries too hard and ends up just being annoying.

The Watcher, one of Ryan Murphy’s new ones on Netflix, is laughably bad. It’s a whodunnit and so the frequent misdirection is expected, but every time the plot offers up a new suspect the main characters just jump in and 100% commit to that being the person. Cue bad decisions being made and no lessons learned.

Steer clear unless you are one of those people who gets a kick out of hate watching something.

Dr Who. I’d have killed her in the first minute.

TENNANT!!! Finally some sanity.

I’m sorry, but have you seen Cate Blanchet?

I have

Christ, I’m glad that’s over. I know who Tegan and Ace are, and I didn’t have a fucking clue what was going on. God know what anyone else watching thought.

RTDs second tenure can’t come quick enough. And that’s not because he wrote Doctor Who when it was brilliant. It’s because he wrote a very English Scandal, Years and Years and It’s a Sin. The man is peerless as as a television writer.

The TV Galadriel is hotter

For sure. I think I have already noted that. I am told it was a classic that will haunt me for quite some time !
However, having the most sex appeal is not what portraiting Galadriel should just be about. She is supposedly the wisest and most intelligent of the Noldor, perhaps only eclipsed by Feanor (!!!). And that is really not the Galadriel we get served in this series, where we see a shallow and emotion driven Galadriel without any sort of the awe shock we should feel at such a titanic figure like her (instead they made her into a shallow swashbuckler with great confidence but not very much wisdom). As such, Cate Blanchet in her prime was far superior in my view, since that Galadriel was mystical, seemed very wise and intelligent and awe inspiring. Sex appeal isn’t all.

Speaking of hot female actors, the wife in Fresh Off The Boat (Constance Wu) always grabs my attention

Cate Blanchett is a goddess and therefore equally wise and sexy.

Resistance is futile.

Dear Jürgen,

Please start winning football matches again, so that otherwise sensible Liverpool fans can stop arguing about shit TV programmes and ugly birds on the Internet.

Thanks in advance,

COG.
