Never got Warhammer - no idea why, just could not figure it out.

The Riftwar Saga by Feist getting made into a series though…

Happy for Cavill, but yeah, Warhammer sounds like a doomed project from the start.

Im conflicted about Cavill and the Superman news. His 3 films in the role were terrible. MoS was borderline unwatchable and I was embarrassed for everyone in Justice League. But he is a good Superman. He just needs good material. But if Gunn is doing a Universe revamp then it makes sense to do a clean sweep.

Cavill being good in things that are shite is in danger of becoming a bit of a trope…

Some might say he is the inverse of Keanu reeves :see_no_evil:

Can’t believe this has been cancelled, i’d heard nothing but good things about the show and was looking forward to watching it.

Just saw on the Warhammer Community website that Cavill has been working with Vertigo Entertainment to get rights to the IP and do the deal with Amazon, so it looks like he has been a driving force in getting this over the line.

He is also in the process of doing a reboot of Highlander!

Werner’s new owners are slashing costs and seemingly view CNN brands as one of the biggest targets. They cancelled the newly launched streaming service just weeks after the take over was finalized, and a few weeks ago junked more or less the entire HLN network. It’s a strategy that is difficult to understand because it seems to run counter to their vision for the new HBOMax streaming service. Licht has stated that he needs to expand the brand to make it seem accessible to people with no interest seeing the sex and violence of what most people associate with HBO programming, and these CNN originals, especially from HLN, were a big part of what produced that additional content they have been using to flesh out the service since Max launched.

So, it is seems is Cavil is a proper nerd?

Very much so. He knows a lot of the detailed lore to the Warhammer and Witcher universes and it often pops up in interviews he does. I think there was a story from one of the actors in the Justice League movie who said he had tried to get them all to play some Warhammer 40k tabletop games.

Hasn’t been a good cooking/travel show since Parts Unknown.

Side note, I managed to find all 13 seasons of my favorite Bourdain show. If folks are interested in it, i’ll try to link to the torrent for them and host it so at least someone will seed it

I think I watched some of this on Netflix, it was brilliant.

I got hooked on No Reservations which was his first show. more about the food and kitchen culture. But Parts Unknown gets him deep into socio-economic and culture. gotta be one of my favorite shows of all time as it hits everything that I live for. Travel. Food/Bev. Culture. History. I fell in love with that show. I really should read some of his books.

I’ve seen him comment on how he was a fat kid until he had a growth spurt in his mid teens and I think we’re getting a sense of why/how.

I was never fat as a kid, into multiple sports teams at school and was still a nerd :man_shrugging:t2:

Willow series is very average. Just watched first 4 episodes.

Bit of a stereotype there? Loads and load of famous (and thin) d and d players (where Cavill got started).

Mila Kunis used to play wow loads, Vin Diesel also.
