Marc Guehi staying at Palace… I wonder what Newcastle’s next move is

Good luck to the lad. So happy. Gives everything I have seen him play. Just bad luck he doesn’t play enough for us.

We’ll always need ‘one more’. That’s the problem. It’s never enough.

We’re all scared by the injuries we suffered under Klopp. Let’s see how it pans out under Slot.

We do need those 2 positions filled but more than happy with the 2 players we have gotten in.Happy that we tried for Zubimendi and glad we are now either waiting to get him at a later point or in the process of finding an equally gifted alternative.
CB is the only position where i have any criticism as it “seems” we haven’t tried to get anyone in there.

Zubimendi will be here after winter transfer. Trust me.

So, we had one player suffer a freak injury at a time the number 1 was already out, and we went along perfectly fine because we had an additional player perfectly capable of deputizing. SOUND THE ALARMS

There are very few CBs in the world of sufficient quality in that position who can double at LB and offer much meaningful attacking output from that position the way we want out of a FB. And Inacio certainly is not that guy.

I think it’s also the position where we probably could improve on what we have most easily.

I know the typical consensus is four centre backs is the right number but I think we could easily carry five and ensure they all get game time. I also think we’re looking at the possibility of replacing one if not two next summer depending on Virg’s contract and how Joe feels.

Ultimately it’s a bit underwhelming. A keeper for a year down the line, if not two, might be shrewd but it’s hard to get excited about and his arrival surely means the end of Alisson’s time here. Chiesa is a real boom or bust candidate. Exciting to have him aboard and to see what he can do but definitely some caution around expectations with him. Then it’s yet another failed bid to address the number six position.

Good deals on the outgoings but overall quite underwhelming and again hanging hopes on the fitness of players in key areas.

His family aren’t going to change their minds.

way way too quiet… Something is gonna happen, isn’t it…

Wasn’t it the same injury as well?

For sure.

But it’ll be the confirmation of Bajcetic’s loan to Salzburg followed by Pearce confirming we’re done for the day.
