PSG are like a more expensive Wolves. Some agent in Portugal is getting very rich from Emirati money and I think that makes it difficult for other clubs to get involved in these sorts of deals.
They have absolutely run Saka into the ground the past 3 years and he came very close to breaking last year. That is in large part because the drop off to whomever else they can play there is massive. It’s very difficult for arsenal to improve their first team at this point, but more Trossard like signings can be the difference between them failing in another challenge or getting over the line at the end of the season and winning something. Raheem isnt what he was, but he could be a savvy move for them, if he is willing to play that role.
Yeah, I think its less about San Sebastian and more about not closing the door on the move to Barca that they have been promising him they intend to push through for the last 2-3 years.
UPDATE: Middlesbrough look to have won the race to sign Liverpool winger Ben Doak. It’s understood the 18yo is on his way to Teesside to undergo a medical and finalise the paperwork on a season-long loan deal.
Important for the Hull connection is Rossenior, someone who seemed very good for Carvalho’s development last year, was sacked at the end of the season. Carrick is getting some pretty good reviews for the work he’s done at Boro so far so that seems a nice option.
I’m more worried about Real Madrid. I would be surprised if he is not on their watch list. He is the perfect replacement for Kroos, imo. They need someone to control the game like Kroos did; Camavinga and Tchouameni are more box-to-box players, though.
Ok, so we really are getting low on academy players who might reasonably be capable of stepping up when needed.
Other than Nyoni who while talented I dont think is being thought of yet as a fall back if we need to bolster the ranks with academy players, who do we have left who has been anywhere near the first team? Is it just Morton, McConnell and Danns?
True, they need to play. No issues with them going out on loan. Apart from the forward line, team is looking pretty thin in other areas in terms of quality backups
I honestly think it’s far too much PTSD on here and not enough recognition that we have had some horrendous injury crises that most other teams would struggle to survive, and still did pretty decent for.
injuries or not, there are far too many games this season, add to the CL adding even more games. The quality depth in other positions is just not there.
