I think I misunderstood, my bad.
I think you have to move on Endo. Slot hasnāt shown any desire to use him and Zubimendi slotting in ahead of him would also have the effect of pushing Morton and Nyoni further down the pecking order.
Iām still not sure the first few games of a season are going to be much of an indication. In any case, heās gotten minutes on par with pretty much anyone who hasnāt started thus far.
In isolation, sure. But we have 3 other signals as well. The role he plays is arguably the most different in this side compared to last season. He had a smaller role in pre-season that youād have imagined of a senior professional. It was his role we tried to spend 60 odd million to upgrade.
The fact he is still here suggests they see enough there to work with in the absence of bringing in an upgrade, but i think it would be difficult to see anything other than a new singing in his role being made as a replacement for him regardless of how soon after heād be able to find a suitable move for all parties
Heās the guy we identified. He could really strengthen us. We couldnāt get him in the summer. But, he may be available in Januaryā¦if so, get him in. Slot stated he wanted him as part of his project, so Iād be happy and welcome the lad. This guy is a very, very good player!
I think it was reported in the summer that we only rejected offers for Endo on the basis that the club had doubts it could find and bring in the sort (and quality) of midfielder they wanted.
I doubt if MacAllister will stay for the long term. I think RM have already been rumored to be interested in him. So increasing the number and quality of our midfielders before any of them leave next summer is no-brainer.
Buy him in the New Year sales before we get beaten to him.
RM midfield is pretty sorted for the medium term at least.
We came back for Virgil after a bit of a clusterfuck at first attempt. But I think he wanted to come at the time but LFC had to slink away with tail between the legs. Round 2 attempt was a master stroke.
But when rejectedā¦nah not again you had your chance son. But I think those media reports about regretting are nonsense.
Quick, someone at LFC get that PowerPoint presentation readyā¦
We havenāt been a selling club for the past decade. Liverpool is the pinnacle, not a stepping stone. Though the continuation of that will depend on success under Slot
Ten years ago
One or two players have stayed until the end, but most leave and for South Americans playing for RM or Barca is the pinnacle of their career. It doesnāt make us a selling club, itās just the way things are.
Just āaskā any of our former players who went on to play for RM or Barca, not all of whom were South American of course.
I would say many but not all? I think most of our recent batch of Brazilians havenāt been that keen on either of those two, have they?
Unless a player has set their sights on Real Madrid or Barcelona.
If we sign him then Iām fine.
If we donāt also fine.
That might be because RM and Barca maybe thought our Brazilians were either not good enough or, more likely, not young enough. Or they simply didnāt fit in with their style of play.
Anyway, regardless of who may or may not leave next summer, buying Zubimendi would still be a good idea in terms of ālevelling upā the overall standard of our midfielders. It would be great to bring in someone of his ability halfway through the season at a time when we are more likely to have players out injured.
It was a genuine question because I knew nothing about that topic.
Fabinho in fact played for Madrid before us, actually.
Agreed, and no matter how good EndÅ is anyway, heās 31. He may not have been a āstop-gapā, but heās not likely to contribute as much as a player 6 years younger.

Did he? I didnāt know that.
