The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

I don’t want to speak on causality. But vinicius and his behaviour does him no favours.

Rodrygo doesn’t play through the middle though, does he?

Not all of the blame should go to Textor, very much looks like he was trying to catch a falling knife.

Of course Swiss Ramble has a Substack…

You’d have been better not speaking at all

It seems a pretty precipitous fall. As I said above, Deloitte still had them as a top 10 financially strongest clubs in Europe around 2020, and so with that it mind I was pretty surprised to see they hadn’t won the league since 2008. It seems a bit like the famous Hemmingway line about going bankrupt slowly and then all at once.

That’s what Carlo had setup early on, but now it seems he has given all three free reign to move about anywhere along the front line, though Vini seems to want to stick to the left wing. Have seen him move more centrally when Rodrygo ventures out to that side.

Has made them hard to defend, because defenders never know where any of them will be attacking from. Probably why they’re starting to bang in goals.

Here we are talking about casual racism and you casually blaming a victim of racism.

Give your head a wobble mate.

Cherki would be a nice signing. He’s an attacking creative midfielder who could play on either wing because he’s listed as both footed on transfermarkt. Also the pricetag seems reasonable if 25m euro is the ask. I’m just wondering if we will get Anybody IN during this winter window.

We don’t do it often but our recent winter transfers have usually been success stories: VVD, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo.

No, it’s unlikely this window. We have a pretty full squad who for the most part are relatively free of injury and playing well, so there is no clear need to bring someone in this month, and those we might like to are probably not available until the summer anyway.

Of the three you mention, VVD was meant to have been done the summer window before but didn’t because we upset his club in the process. Diaz was a target for the following summer but his club were needing the cash in the winter window and Spurs had got them to commit to a lower asking price so we jumped in. As for Gakpo, I think he also may have been a summer target brought forward.

So although we were somewhat opportunistic in at least two of those deals, we are still working off what appears to be a very short list of targets, and a clear reason behind the move (i.e to replace Mane and Firmino in those cases) when we do.

Think he’s a classic case of an agent using us to get interest. He’s desperate to move, Lyon are desperate to get rid and there’s absolutely no room in our squad for a player like him.
Would be very surprised if there was anything in this one outside of having watched him a few times.

We could buy him and agree to leave him at Lyon until the summer?

No I don’t think it is the reason, it is more to do with Lyon being desperate for money as they are in dire straits financially.

Sounds like time to go shopping! They have some decent players who could add to our squad depth. We don’t have to get them this window but we can get the ball rolling.

Yeah man, that’s what I was alluding to when I said Lyon are desperate to get rid.
Either way, would be extremely surprised if we went after him given his profile and what we already have in the squad.

He is young and I am confident slot would help him iron out a few of f his deficiencies.

If making shit up is not classed as unreliable this thread would be dead.

I’m still waiting for the flight to arrive for the lad from Lyon in the mid 2000’s. I can’t even remember his name. Talk about holding patterns.

Nabil Fekir. Official story was the medical found his knee was feked, but he later claimed that was BS and it fell through because his agent was Feking around.

And since then he’s had two serious knee injuries. They were a few years later but it lends some credence to the idea our medical checks picked up on a heightened injury risk.

I don’t mind it so much but it’s really not hard to put the source in brackets or mention them.

I think it’s just incredibly lazy added to the fact he seems to be pissing himself in anger over Richard Hughes sunning himself in Barbados.
