Haha go for it, I was already considering doing so as I’d rate Press Association as being a fairly reliable source.

Yeah there a decent outlet to get a rumour from.

True though isn’t it.

We’ve had one who came crocked
One with massive attitude problems
And one we haven’t played

Oh Dossena but again that’s like judging English players based on Peter Atherton.

He’s being lined up for a leading part in the Gremlins reboot.

Dossena goals at Man Utd and home to Madrid make him all worth while.

I am sure Atherton had some highlights too.

We certainly haven’t bought the best of what Italy has to offer that’s for sure.

But I do think there’s a truth to the idea that Italian players have a propensity to stay in Italy and those that don’t often don’t have a lot of success in the other top leagues.

Doesn’t mean it’s always the case but even now, with Serie A not the financial powerhouse it once was, you don’t see top clubs trying to buy Italian players.

I’m scarred enough from the ones we’ve had to happily steer clear.

Aquilani, ???, Chiesa?

There’s also still Padelli? Though I guess one could say he’s one who hasn’t played.

Come to think of it there’s Borini and Balotelli too, but I guess the latter is the one with attitude problems?

Huh? Padelli was the first Italian to play for us.

It was only once, in the last game of the season, but he was still the first.

Yes I posted about him in the who would you buy thread after I watched a few African World Cup 2026 qualification matches last week and he was out standing in both matches where he scored twice in the first game and a hat trick in the match against Mozambique and an assist where his team won 5:1. He was busy throughout the game but he also benefited from some amazing passes from his captain a certain Ryad Mahrez. He is a bit diminutive but deadly in the oppositions box.

Signing someone called Amoura?

If anything will get ANL back online it will be the opportunity to draft a series of shit song lyrics

It probably will be the same song about Amorim but less sarcastic .

Actually haven’t a clue who that is.

Borini is like picking a championship sub and judging a nationality because that is what he was.

I don’t think we’ve signed a single Italian player for the first team who hasn’t made at least one appearance for us, so I’m presuming what @mattyhurst is taking liberties with the term ā€œwe haven’t playedā€.

I am aware about his sole appearance for us (Padelli, not @mattyhurst).

I meant Chiesa evidently the talent is there in my view but whatever reason he doesn’t get on.
