The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

We’ll be in for a right back and a left back for the early business. Seal them in quick and get them to the training ground quickly too.

Those are probably the bare essentials. Everything else depends on who we manage to move out.

No idea what that means

Bradley. We still need another RB though

It’s a clickbait title of the most laughable sort and that’s why I don’t read Liverpool Echo anymore. Slot specifically said this in his presser:

“Conor has such an intense playing style,” said Slot. “They all run a lot but Conor is in his own league when it comes to running a lot, comparable maybe with Achraf Hakimi at PSG. He is everywhere during the game. But Hakimi is 26. He is much more used to doing this every single week.

“Conor needs time and a good programme to keep him fit. He is not the only one who has not been a regular starter who has had some injuries this season, look at Diogo Jota and Harvey Elliott. The ones who are not regular starters, it is harder to keep them fit than the ones who are. If Conor is going to be the regular starter next season that could maybe help him. I think he had 20 games [in a row] last season when Trent was injured. Let’s hope that has a positive impact on his fitness as well.”

Any news on whether we would keeping Calvin Ramsay. For all intents , he was rated on par with Bradley only for injuries to derail him.

Even if legally this nonsense could work this is the ultimate reason it doesnt work. A players got to have a pretty shit agent and contracts lawyer if they end up signing something as dadt as that.

You can’t bar players from signing for a certain club provided a suitable transfer bid has been made. Or leaving the club on a free to sign for that club after their contract is over.

The only thing which will stop real Madrid from doing this is that if they became a complete clusterfuck over the next 10 years. Which is nigh on impossible given that the club is too big to fail. Probably the only club right now in world football which is in that level.

They have a very good south american scouting network. A great academy and can simply entice players to leave in their prime on a free to join their club.

Maybe the most feasible thing that can be done for the likes of Real is that if the TV rights monies are more equitably distributed among all the clubs. That would not have immediate benefits but atleast the lesser teams in that league can probably hold on to the players more and probably even compete as well.

Frimpong and Kerkez look like obvious additions in those positions and I can see those being the first 2 through the door, the #9 position is the one we’ll be mulling over…no obvious name stands out and many thrown into the hat, from Gyokeres to Sesko to David to Cunha to Ekitite. Isak been mentioned as well but I guarentee that never happens.

The futures of Ibou, Diaz and Harvey are the ones I’ll be keeping the closest eye on this summer. It would be very disappointing if we didn’t renew Ibou which increases the chance he’ll be the next big name off for nothing and would be a major setback.

Funny, I also compared some of Bradley’s directness and underlapping runs to Hakimi’s.

:joy:

Another reason we should tell those fascist scum to fuck off and refuse to let Trent leave before 30/6 unless they pay a substantial sum (>5m) which they won’t. At no point have they behaved reasonably and we need to put our foot down.

There is a game theory angle to this, which Liverpool need to consider.

The obvious thing to do is let Trent leave and screw as much money out of Madrid as possible. See if we can get £5m and consider ourselves lucky.

However, winning the CWC (and you just know that they fucking will) would net Real Madrid 100m. Money which can then be turned towards players like Konate and Mac Allister, who they have expressed an interest in, or generally consolidate their grip on the CL, which we would quite like to win.

The sensible and entirely logical, unemotional thing to do might be to tell them to go fuck themselves.

Absolutely - although Trent won’t likely be the difference between them winning and not. And on top of that it’s important that other clubs know if they behave this way we won’t take it lying down and certainly won’t make it easy for them.

Or… Liverpool want to sign Rodrygo as their new forward, so if Real Madrid really want TAA to feature in CWC, they might find some common ground to get both deals completed.

Overrated in my opinion but at this point, I’d rather have him upfront than Darwin.

KSA in Germany (I’d never heard of them either) saying we’ve shown an interest in Wirtz.
Some talk that Bayern have to pay €150m but anyone else it’s €100m.

Hope he doesn’t end up at City.

Yeah I think it’s either Bayern or City, unfortunately. He may end up staying another season due to the high fee.

Or do a Micky Edwards - Fuck Off special.

Transfer fee of £2M to release him early, then throw in a clause that should Trent be in the CWC squad and they win, we get £10M and if they come come anywhere near any of our players in the next 15 seasons, they will need to pay an additional £500M on top of any transfer fee.
