From memory Record and Ojogo were the reliable Portuguese papers so this one goes in here

Utter bollocks. If we spunk 60M+ on this guy I’ll quickly lose hope. He’s a blagger. 27 and never played in a top league. Total mirage.

And failed repeatedly to do it on a cold night at the Ricoh

I wouldn’t mind if we don’t sign any striker at all. Jota when fit is very good striker. His all round play with Wirtz, Salah and Diaz/Gakpo will be great in my opinion. Wong bd surprised if Jota bags 20 goals/Assists next season if fit.

One of Jota’s weaknesses is actually his link up play, he’s definitely not the best fit for the single striker role. But in lacking an ideal option up front, Slot gave him that advantage at the start of last season, probably putting a lot of faith in his pressing, movement and finishing. Hence why we are adding a player of absolute top tier technical quality in Wirtz. There are good reasons for that, not even Szobo cuts it in those aspects. But yeah, I could see a scenario if he don’t sign a striker that we go into another season with 3 options up top: Diaz, Jota and the double false #9 option. Not necessarily in that order.

Liverpool goalkeeper Harvey Davies has joined League Two side Crawley Town on a season-long loan, with the 21-year-old having signed a new contract.

Looks like that would make recent signing Armin Pesci our 3rd choice keeper for the season.

I wonder if we are going to get a new striker to replace Nunez, and also another winger?

If both, say Ekitike and Fofana - the latter would be an understudy for a more established winger but he might have it in him to go to the top of the class in a couple of years - then it starts to get more plausible that we would sell one of Diaz or Gakpo.

Like all reds, I’m intrigued as to what we are going to do in the final third, outgoing and incoming.

Presumably another central defender is on the way.

Don’t think Liverpool will countenance selling Gakpo.

Everyone has a price ofcourse but the price for Gakpo should be in the Wirtz transfer fee price if not higher for that to happen.

I’d sooner sell Diaz to be honest. Gakpo is talented and young, and offers us a different dimension either on the left or up front. Diaz is a great player but not irreplaceable in my view. Gakpo feels like more worth hanging on to.

I’d hope we don’t sell Gakpo. One of our best three attacking players last season and we have enough changes happening in the squad without needing to go get a replacement for him as well.

They can turn their attention elsewhere thank you kindly.

If we are looking for a young wide forward I think we can’t do much better than this lad. Premier league proven. I think he can have the same impact that Sadio did when he joined us. With far better players around him he will be ten times as effective.

Kudus’ price is now well above his level of development. He could turn out to be the 80-100m player West Ham seemingly value him at, but spend that sort of money on him he’d need to already be there. And I dont think many people would argue he is.

Yeah, i think even West Ham fans where questioning him for much of the second half of the season
