Looking at Palace’s roster and the fact that they play 3 at the back, I think they will need more than 1 new CB, especially once/if they sell Guehi this summer. So, links shouldn’t be surprising regardless of what happens with Guehi. You don’t necessarily need 6 options when you play 3 at the back, but still, right now they have: Guehi, Lacroix, Riad, Richards and Holding. Two of which are injured, one of which long term (Riad expected to be back in January). Their “next” option is playing Lerma out of position at CB. Or an even bigger emergency, Clyne. Still a PL player, wow.
Scoring so many goals, we might not need to defend.
And Holding is leaving, so they better go CB shopping.
English defender Rob Holding, 29, is set to leave Crystal Palace on a free transfer to join Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids , who held off competition from Championship sides Sheffield United and Wrexham . ( Sky Sports, external)
Scoring more than the other team.
Attack is the best form of defence
You lost me there.
Pity, might have been an interesting post.
Maybe that’s real Slotball? Not the cautious approach with a Klopp inherited team, but the suicide football of 1990s, Keegan managed Newcastle.
I am not sure about that one as in the matches with AC Milan and Yokohama we had a few wobbles even with our stalwarts Konate we at least need Guehi and a another.
I don’t think we will buy two if I’m honest but we need one.
The other one is just a young CH similar age to Quansah as we now know we cannot rely on Gomez to be available.
But I just don’t see us buying another one on top of Guehi, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
This is a new name from BBC rumours
Premier League duo Liverpool and Bournemouth have both opted not to match newly promoted Saudi Pro League side Neom SC’s huge offer for Nantes’ French defender Nathan Zeze, 20. ( TBR Football, external)
Yeah that was the name the scum was rumouring us for a few days ago. Assume it’s the same rumour as it was a Saudi club then.
PSG’s pursuit of Bournemouth’s Zabarnyi is dragging on forever and stories yesterday saying we’re now interested
Any good?
Sorta kinda?
Young though (22), so plenty of opportunity to develop.
Apparently the deal with PSG is nearly done. Tottenham also said to be interested.
Apparently Celtic and Fulham want Chiesa on loan
10m loan fee, option to buy for another 10. Otherwise no
If it is Celtic, I’d go 10M loan fee with guaranteed 10M transfer fee after loan.
For Fulham, I’d maybe look at a 6 month loan with an option to extend. Lets see if his fitness is enough to stand up to the riggers of P/L football and if he does well, we can bring him back for the 2nd half of the season.
Fulham might be a better move for Chiesa. At this point, it will be about what the player needs.
