The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

I’d only sanction it if they gave us enough money upfront to effectively eliminate all of the club’s debts - stadium, training ground, operating costs
everything. If we don’t have time to get a replacement then at least it would put the club in position to reset the books way ahead of time.

No idea what that amount of money is but it’s certainly more than 100m - and I’m sure we already have a repayment structure for all of that sorted anyway making it not that important.

Having said that I’ll certainly be very critical of any decision to sell now though. Short of him demanding a transfer, not training etc then I’d tell them to piss off and don’t call us until June 2024 if they want to talk to us.

At which point can we afford Mbappe and still have change?

Doesn’t have to be a starting defender.

Trent is our only natural RB. Gomez and Matip are not good enough to start regularly anymore and they had their issues in the past. Konate is promising and managed to squeeze Matip out of the team ahead of Paris, but also didn’t complete a season with more than 30 games so far. As a physical, 23-25 year old CB. Virgil also showing some signs of weaknesses in last months.

The situation at LB is very solid and very stable.

Exactly. And if they call us before then we’ll sell him to their rivals Alwatifuck or whatever they’re called

yes I know, what i mean is its our deadline and sky will milk it because there isnt much going on otherwise

What is Bradley then?

Compare with the teams expected to be title challengers?

My point is that it looks weak with all these hypothetical scenarios, but confer how Arsenal fell apart with one or two injuries, and they’re widely backed to be City’s main rivals this season? Or that Chelsea’s spent all that money, and 39-year-old Thiago Silva is still considered to be their best defender?

City have got Dias, Gvardiol, Stones, AkĂ©, Akanji, of whom I’m sure Stones has a stellar injury record, AkĂ© and Akanji are highly rated as defenders, and I’m sure AkĂ© doesn’t have any injury issues of his own

Bradley could become one when I see him playing for Liverpool’s first team squad for more than a few cup games. If he stays.

The level Thiago Silva operates at this stage of his career is unfortunately a level I don’t think any of our CB’s apart Virgil will reach in their careers. Maybe Konate, maybe.

City have 8 defenders (counting if Cancelo does leave for Barca) for 4 positions which is exactly the number needed. A kid like Rico Lewis who is already playing both full back positions and also in midfield when needed. In fact, Pep credited him to being key last season as they started using the hybrid formation.

theres talk he will sign a new deal at psg.

Where’s he going to go if he’s injured?

That’s a matter of judgment, and in any case, that doesn’t speak to the supposed depth Chelsea has.

That’s double standards there, since Rico Lewis has had literally 23 games in his professional career, of which 9 came in cup games.

Furthermore, we also have 8 defenders for 4 positions, in fact one might even argue that we have 9 with Quansah.

Al Ittihad prepared to offer ÂŁ200m for Salah
One source has told Sky Sports News that Al Ittihad are prepared to go to ÂŁ200m to sign Mohamed Salah.

They’ve had a bid worth £150m rejected and Liverpool say he’s not for sale. (Source: Sky Sports)

At this rate, it’ll be £1b by midnight

Don’t know how long he’s injured.

Lewis is already proven to be part of City’s first team squad, Bradley is yet do to that.

I’m not even going to get into the comparisons over quality, we can remain at quantity.
