I think it’s realistic to expect around 70-75 million pounds there but without Brewster and Awoniyi (we’ll see what happens with the former but the latter will probably go out on loan to Union Berlin). I assume that Edwards will be equally reasonable when it comes to spreading payments over certain period of time, it’s what the club did for Hoever and what Bayern and Wolves did for Alcantara and Jota respectively.
Regarding incoming, this is as balanced and strong as I’ve ever seen a Liverpool Squad. I think we’re done for the summer, and if we can shift the lads not in this 24, it’s a perfect window.
Alisson
Adrian
Kelleher
Alexander-Arnold
Robertson
Tsimikas
Williams
Van Dijk
Gomez
Matip
Fabinho
Henderson
Thiago
Wijnaldum
Keita
Oxlade-Chamberlain
Milner
Jones
I think we can clear £70m, which more than covers the fees for Thiago and Jota.
Karius - bag of crisps
Phillips - nominal
Grujic - 15m
Shaqiri - 10m
Wilson - 10m
Origi - £15m
Awoniyi - already on loan
Brewster - £20m
Larouci - nominal
But the thing is that because of the way Edwards has structured these incoming deals, there is no pressure to take shit fees this window. The mans incredible.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that Pitaluga kid takes over as the third goalie, so that Kelleher can go out on loan. After all, it was mentioned by the press a few months back but Kelleher is also in contention for his national team, so a successful loan might strengthen his credential further.
I agree that this could be the best Liverpool squad that Liverpool have had in Premier League, we’ll see if that’s enough to win the league and/or maybe something else. It will be a tightly packed season, authorities don’t care much about the well-being of football players, so there will be plenty of injuries, I assume.
I do hope we see those aforementioned players leave, though, and Jones, Williams and Elliott staking their claim for first team place. That said, I hope it’s the likes of Minamino and Keita who truly push on this season, as well as Alcantara and Jota (mainly because I don’t want them to buckle under the pressure of expectations that media will force upon them).
Grabara is on his way to PAOK on loan, I think. I agree that Kelleher might need a permanent move but why not send him out on a loan or two before making a decision on him? It did wonders for Dean Henderson. Even Johnstone, another academy graduate of Man United, has started the season as the first goalie of WBA after having multiple loans. I dare say that Kelleher is a better talent than Johnstone.
It wouldn’t suprise me if we kept some of these players till next season to sell,if the market mean’t all we were offered were the figure’s you think they are worth. At the very least,i’d imagine these would be fee’s we’d look at before selling.I can’t see Origi being sold for £15mill for example, when we just payed £41mill for Diogo.
