The Unreliable Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 1)

I canā€™t really see where Shaq gets his games. With having Jota and Minamino now, his playing time is even more limited if he stays fit. Perhaps it depends on which other players are leaving.

The goalkeeper situation is a weird one - we have about 8 on the books who are 17+.

I think the idea is to send them out on loan, get them exposure and make a profit on them. Edwards got a cracking fee for Ward and another one or two like that pays for a first team player. Even Lawrence Vigaroux made us a few hundred thousand quid.

Kelleher has improved a lot over the previous year and is now ready for a Championship loan. A decent loan will probably secure him a move away. Iā€™d expect Jaros to maybe get one next year. Jakub Orzinski has started well for the u18s and will probably get one in 2 years. Who knows how good this Brazilian will be.

One of them will be there as a 3rd choice each season, and itā€™ll probably be seen as a bonus for any of them to be develop enough to be second choice, but primarily it looks like a way for us to make easy money.

One injury up top and it starts to look short, wouldnā€™t want to have less options than we have now especially with this season as it is. If we get a decent price for him then fair enough but if itā€™s a loan Iā€™d keep him, mind you same goes for all of them bar probably Brewster.

65g or 220g?

I asked Man Cityā€™s accountantā€¦

And Iā€™m reliably informed those four are on a total of Ā£20 a week between them. Pretty reasonable, I think youā€™ll agree.

I donā€™t think so. Aside from the five senior forward players we have, there are others in the squad who could fill in there. And anything beyond that, a shift to 4231 will sort it.

I actually would be surprised if he jumps ahead of Jaros. Itā€™s not like he was a first team keeper in Brazil, heā€™s just a prospect himself and Jaros has done everything right so far.

Would be great for Kelleher to go on loan - doesnā€™t really matter what level in my opinion, there are good finishers in League One just as much as the Championship.

But if he does Iā€™d expect Jaros to be the third choice and Pitaluga to go into the 23s.

Iā€™m a bit apprehensive at that idea because of JaroÅ”ā€™ injury issues, maybe that was another reason why club decided to go in for Pitaluga, other than obvious Becker family recommendation. I think heā€™s the most expensive youth player that Liverpool bought after Ojo, though I might be reading tok much into it. Either way, I hope that club can bring the best out of all of them, itā€™s a great selection of young goalies, maybe one of them sticks, who knows.

Maybe Iā€™m getting used to us having a bigger squad for once.

I wouldnā€™t bother loaning them out though. Unless itā€™s Karius or Brewster, the former because it might be hard to sell and the latter because he is still a talent (one that I expect needs to move forward elsewhere).

I still think we have a need for Kabak. I really would like to keep Fab at CDM, if possible, and Gomez and Matip have injury histories. It would be nice to give Virgil a night off once in a while, too.

I think if Fabinho is going to play exclusively as a midfielder, then Gini or Ox are probably moving on.

With Gini only having a year left on his deal and no signs of contract talks, I think itā€™s fine to have a surplus for a year even if he doesnā€™t get sold.

Probably less than Werner.

Interestingly, someone on twitter was disputing the statement that Leipzig wanted Ā£50m all in one go, claiming that Chelsea only paid Ā£17m this summer. Not sure where they got that information from (and judging by the way they made their point to Tompkins, its likely they are a Chelsea fan). Even if true, 1st payments on our 3 signings so far this summer come under even this amount. Quite remarkable.

And this appearsā€¦

Donā€™t know what to make of it, yeah heā€™s injury prone but feel he can still give his contributionā€¦ Also, homegrown.

Why do people keep saying Gomez has injury issues. Since his leg/ankle been broken against Burnley in Dec 18 which took 4 months to recover from he hasnā€™t missed consecutive games with injury since. His other previous injury was the ACL/ Achilles injury where he missed a year.

Ox is going nowhere. Wonā€™t be fit to pass a medical until the end of the window.

Gareth Bale passed his but is reportedly not expected to recover from the injury he picked up playing for Wales until mid October.

A short term injury that has been diagnosed wonā€™t necessarily mean he wonā€™t pass a medical, just that he wouldnā€™t be available immediately.

Still have my doubts itā€™s genuine anyway.

Teams sign injured players all the time, he can pass a medical with the injury he has.

Chamberlain leaving does make sense if itā€™s a good enough fee. In one window we would have cleared out 4 or 5 very injury prone players who are well paid but on the fringes of our squad.

Would probably want another player brought in if thatā€™s the case though, another centre back allowing Fabinho to stay in midfield probably or maybe another wide player (if Shaqiri goes).
