Bit of a strange post. Burnley have almost no impact on us whatsoever
Yes but perhaps I think adding his extra physical presence would make them even more combative and when we play them - especially with encouragement to âleave somethingâ on our players in any challenges. Anyway Iâm happy if we can get 10m for him (maybe with a 20% sell on fee!) and if he goes off and has a good career.
Fair enough. I do think the Burnley apprehension is a result of the scars of the likes of Stoke rather than any real trouble theyâve given us. Yes we always get a game but 10 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats over the course of 12 recent years reflects a relatively safe result when we play them considering one of those draws was after we won the league last year and this years loss was in the middle of the most inexplicable run of results at home in the Clubâs entire history.
Also, our team are not pansies. That apprehension is also a holdover from the past. We have more than enough steel in that velvet glove of ours. Phillips going to Burnley really shouldnât be causing anybody any trepidation. If anything, it will help against the real pansies in the league such as Arsenal, Spurs and even City when they come up against it.
Not against Burnley , Just donât want Douche to stay in the leagues. Guys like him, Allardyce , Pulis with their negative style of play donât deserve to be managing in the highest level.
Let Brighton , Southampton make a bid on the amount quoted⌠Fair enough
Ben Mee did break Joe Gomezâ leg two and a half years ago.
Oh come on. Dyche was very clear on the matter. It was an honest tackle in a contact sport - Joe Gomezâs leg was there to be won.
This was when Joe played RB. Would hate to see him at RB again.
Knew we would get linked sooner or later with McGinn, but nah, the mentioned price is too high.
Pfff, that wouldnât even buy his right bootlace
Just heard that weâre planning to move for Astonvillania midfielder Jean Maginniho. Donât know anything about him, but him itâs true. Sounds a cracking player.
McGinnâs a good player (right @ZinedineBiscan?!) but no way weâre paying ÂŁ50m for him.
If true, I wonder if they genuinely value him at that or whether it is a deliberate effort to keep Villa from losing too many players in one window now that they expect Grealish to be on his way.
I think we were rumoured to be interested in him a year or two ago as wellâŚ
McGinn is far too inconsistent. Against the Czech Republic he literally looked like he had only heard of football through the radio and decided to give it a try.
Big Charlie Adam vibes.
This is real madrid esque, buy up all the weapons other clubs have to stop you scoring. Thatâll leave us with just VVD (and Millie if he gets the call) to push those thugs around.
Dyke might dissagree with that!
I see the McGinn rumours as smoke and mirrors. I just canât see how Edwards and Klopp would go and splash our that kind of money for McGinn, whoâs 27 this year. Even at ÂŁ30m Iâd be a bit surprised we would go for him.
I like him and heâs a decent player, and would be good to add to the ranks, but when there are others out there linked with far higher ceilings, such as Bissouma and Nehaus, Iâd be a bit disappointed by a signing like him for big money.
Itâs rubbish for subscribers, âwhen Klopp gets around toâ I think Klopp would have thought about replacing Gini several months ago you could make the point that Thiago factors into that.
50m? I donât even know why people give this stuff credibility seems to have made something about Klopp and then connected it to McGinn in a analysis piece.
Itâs Pearce talking from his arse, must be low on subscribers this month.
10000% Iâd hazard a guess Klopp would prefer Thiago over McGinn, just ever so slightly⌠If we were going to try and sign a Scottish midfielder it would be Gilmour when the chavs have finally finished with loaning him out.
Meh. Whole article seems to be predicated on fact Klopp must have once asked publicly if McGinn ever stops running, pretty thin.
Iâd be about as excited to sign him as I was for Gini (not very) but would be happy to have another Scottish player in the team. Donât really know a lot about him, he played a lot of minutes for a Villa team that exceeded expectations, which is large plus in my book.
Pearce has been more of a hack than usual lately.
Screw Dyche, he was tuning his inner lard arse when he spoke about us.
Completely forgot about the Ben Mee tackle, though.
