I repeat strange stance to determine what is important. Are you really trying to argue that if we were to be selling Phillips and VvD that we should be looking at Phillips as the better player and it would be confusing as to why we would ask/expect more money for VvD? Iām not saying either Lille player is better than the other but your stated reasons for basing your opinion seem 100% based on who played the most.

No one is arguing that and the comparison you picked is deliberately ridiculous.
All heās asking is why, if Soumare contributed so much more in terms of time on the pitch last season, would he be significantly cheaper than Sanches? If you donāt watch a lot of Lille, which I bet most of us donāt, itās a fair question to ask.
Itās not unreasonable to wonder why there is a price disparity between the two when on the surface, the cheaper player seemed to be more integral to their success than the more expensive one. If youāve some insight on if thatās down to ability, then offer it. If itās because Sanches had his knee ligament snapped by an opposition keeper less than ten games into the season then you could just say that. But donāt strawman it with pointless comparisons that offer little and shut down a valid discussion.

I told you I looked it up (on internet) from that I was told the term you used (Farmers league) was a social media term. Itās about putting 2 and 2 together.
Letās make it easy, why are you using social media terms?
I also presume you use such terms to be funny and provocative even if I donāt know what they mean I can grasp that. Whereās your humor.

Got you - the term Farmers League may have originated/been picked up via social media (as is all terminology that is used). Itās been a term used to describe some leagues for a number of years in my friend circle - thatās real life humans that I meet with and chew football fat with. Maybe one of them picked it up from social media? Maybe social media picked it up from one of them. Donāt really know, donāt really care.

The discussion doesnāt need to resort to ridiculous comparisons in order to belittle someone asking a fair question.
I appreciate you have offered some insight. Heās one of their stars, heās their best-paid player, he was injured for some of the season. Iām sure his performances in the Euros have done his reputation and by proxy, his price tag, no harm at all. Ultimately though, I think we were all hoping someone might be able to offer some insight on comparative ability and suitability of the two players.
Of course, all of this is based on some rumour of the price they want being ā¬30m.

I think all this discussion over the importance of Lille getting a good price for a player that cost them 20 million compared to selling a player that got for free for less is proof, no?

100% agree with this. Itās a no for me. Just my opinion but Sanches has always struck me as a player that struggles with consistency and focus. Loaded with wonderful physical tools but lacks the intelligence and drive to put it all together for a big club. Pass.
To Sweetingās last point regarding the league, Iāve always wondered why theyāve had such a difficult (or unwilling?) time finding a worldwide broadcast partner as BL and PL have done. There is a lot of bright talent playing in the competition, deserving of a broader global audience.
