Starting to Think, especially CB, all the talk of Koumetio and Fabinho covering is very similar to the talk of Karius and Ward being our number one when we were negotiating on Alisson. I still think Fabinho will cover there but because it’s a condensed season and Matip will be missing a lot. But I think, at minimum, there’ll still be at least one CB arrive, two if Matip leaves. Possibly still an attacker if the departures of Shaqiri, Wilson, Origi and Brewster are looking likely.

I agree. I reckon we’ll buy a CB and reckon it will be the 2nd highest fee we’ve paid for a defender.

As a back 5 with Virgil central Sakho left Lovren right and Johnson and Moreno as wing backs … it’d still be shit…but surprisingly would improve several of our rivals defences!

Let me pose the question to the group, would you rather go bigger fee (£20m+) on a younger player like Kabak with a very high ceiling but needs consistent playing time, or save money and spend £10.8 on experience such as Colley (28), a player with a very robust fitness record, that would add quality depth and play every few matches when called upon.

Yeah I think we will try and get rid of a few and save the cash to pick up in January if needed.

I think that would only change if we got a long term injury at CB.
