The Unreliable Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 1)

But what if he goes to Newcastle first?

He should go to Newcastle and sort out his imaginary attitude problem first before we even look at him. A season on Tyneside would knock any nonsense out of him. I’m sure it’s a sacrifice he’d be willing to make in order to play for us. All the easy money, adulation, hot babes and sunshine of Madrid would pale in comparison with a wet Tuesday in February touring the Beamish Living Museum.

So first it was Italians now we are picking specific clubs we shouldn’t sign players from.

Chelsea are considering a late loan move for Atletico Madrid and Spain midfielder Saul Niguez, 26, while the Blues have offered new contracts to central defenders Antonio Rudiger, 28, of Germany and Denmark’s Andreas Christensen, 25. (Telegraph - subscription required)

If Saul is available on loan I’d like us to be in the mix.

Sky just had an interview with that bloke from Kop TV asking him about Mbappe because apparently he is in talks with an ā€œunnamed English clubā€

Just what Chelsea need - another midfielder.

I wonder if Chelsea are returning to their tactic of buying players, just to stop rival clubs signing them?

He’d actually be an excellent addition for them. More so than for us. Would be very irritating if they managed to get him on loan.

Havertz Lukaku Mount
Saul Jorginho Kante
Chilwell Kounde Silva James
Mendy

Kepa, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Chalobah, Alonso, Kovacic, Pulisic, Ziyech, Werner would be some matchday squad and first XI.

They don’t have a lot of proper central midfielders to be fair.

Kante, Kovacic and Jorginho.

Mount is more used between the lines and Loftus-Cheek (who knows if he stays) is also more offensive minded. Gilmour was practically their 4th choice CM on paper.

Remains to be seen if they use Trevoh Chalobah in midfield as well as CB.

I don’t want to shatter people’s hopes but I’ve got reason to believe that this is photoshopped.

According to Get French Football News, Real Madrid have placed a €160m bid for Mbappe.

Would insert the link but don’t have access to Twitter (no account).

If true and it doesn’t happen, it means Liverpool or stay at PSG.

I know you want him at Anfield Jurgen…
But what ya doing with your hand :flushed:

It’s pretty likely for Real to submit a bid, there’s already at least some initial agreement between Mbappé’s agent and Real. The papers mentioned contact between an English club and PSG but no mention of a bid (wanted to get agreement with PSG first?). So it’s less likely the English club have as close contact with Mbappé’s agent.

This one’s over folks.

EDIT:. The headlines are ā€˜English club in contact with Mbappé’ which is slightly different to what I’ve said, but regardless the English club haven’t submitted a bid so they musn’t be on Mbappé’s radar really.
