Hahaha… United will be on a meltdown and Mark Goldbridge might take weeks off to get over it.
They are unable to conclude the deal to sign Smalling for less money, I honestly doubt that they will be able to sign Shaqiri unless it’s some loan-to-buy with an obligatory clause for the next summer… And even then I wouldn’t believe them. I could see him at another PL club for financial reasons only, to be honest.
Ya… Italian clubs are horrible to deal with except say Juventus who have money to spend… They want all players on loan deals and they can’t afford anyone…
You’re probably right although it might be that we still owe them money for Alisson so the deal to a value of £20m could be achieved if it included Roma writing off that outstanding balance? Also…clubs seem to find money for our players that they don’t manage to find for their other signings
Looks like Brewster to Sheffield United is agreed for 23.5m, a sell on fee, and a buyback clause. Good bit of business by Edwards.
Next outgoings should be Wilson, Shaqiri, Grujic? I’d expect around another 50m for that lot. Which means LFC have already covered their incoming fees. Jota and Thiago were 60m combined. Really good work by Edwards if he can find homes elsewhere for the rest of our fringe players.
I’ll miss Shaqiri. I know everyone will say he hardly played so what’s to miss but he is a quality player. I wish Burnley would just stump up the money for Wilson and we can keep the cube instead
20m for Shaqiri will be excellent business. Hopefully he will be fit enough to play for them hes a talented boy.
Big Shaqs the Powercube. We’ll always have your bicycle kick goal in Michigan and your goals v United that saw Mou relieved of his managerial duties. Goodnight, sweet prince.
I think Shaqiri will be fine outside Premier League. Yeah, I like him too, though he hasn’t played much.
To be honest, I feel a little bit frustrated that Brewster, Shaqiri and Grujić, who all seem to put in their best effort for Liverpool, will be going, while Wilson and Origi, who seem resigned to the fact that they are backup players, will be staying and likely not providing anything useful to the first team. It might be unfair from me on both but I can’t help it, I’m sorry. It doesn’t have anything to do with last night’s performance, Wilson did play out of position but he’s been off form for a while, while Origi has simply been left behind as the team progressed.
Probably had the same chance to leave but no-one wants them at the price we have them at.
The good bit is Origi is clearly now 6th choice behind Jota and Minamino… Potentially even 7th behind Jones.
I don’t like to slate players these days but Origi for me has frustrated me the most as he had all the talent to be a bully of a forward, but just hasn’t progressed since day 1 really.
I would’ve preferred Shaq to stay, even though he’s injury prone. I think with his experience and versatility he can help us during the busy months of Dec. I particularly like his range of passing in midfield. He has the vision to spot runners and deliver good passes from midfield to break D-Line.
Then again if by selling Shaq and other fringe players bring us a hefty income to maybe purchase an up and coming star I’m all for it😆.
Nathaniel Clyne is having trial, not medical, with Crystal Palace. Hope it works out for him.
There’s two offers for Shaqiri, one of them from Italian League. Southampton and West Ham are interested in Grujic.
So just one then.
Probably a top 5 post so far on here Jonesy lad.
To be honest if Shawn had the fitness of Origi, I doubt he would be off, he just doesn’t does he, you say it will be good to have him available but he rarely is.
Love the quality the guy has but we need fit back up players and what with Two now ahead if we can get 20m that’s fine by me.
Shaqiri is off to Lazio for 20 million. Apparently, he was in the starting eleven against Arsenal and was pulled last minute. That’s why Wilson started instead, he was originally on the bench.
20M each for Origi and Shaqiri would be good business. Add 10M for Harry Wilson too
Over 20 years maybe
