Is he Portuguese ?

Also the likelihood of eventually finding a replacement for Sterling.

City would be in the prime position for this. They can easily offer arsenal Sterling plus cash in exchange for Sako.

As much as Iā€™d like Sako at liverpool , we arent in that position yet when we can hijack a transfer for a target that City find themselves in need for.

Would rather we get Martinelli as a #9 if we decide to phase out Bobby if at all we are looking at candidates from Arsenal.

If I could choose between Saka and Martinelli, Iā€™d choose the latter because of Firminoā€™s decline and hopeful emergence of Gordon (and Salahā€™s new contract, hopefully). Heā€™s a quality talent, you donā€™t often see a player whoā€™s suffered a horrible injury and returned even fitter and quicker. I found it interesting that Klopp name-checked him after our last encounter with Arsenal, he usually doesnā€™t mention opposition players.

I enjoyed him in Joker.

Interesting new tactic. Instead of getting footballers to act, get actors to play football. Refs wonā€™t know whatā€™s hit them.

Saka or Martinelli would be amazing but do we need either with the options we already have and have coming through.

Would be an embarrassment of riches (which iā€™d be completely onboard with) but I couldnā€™t see it happening unless one of Mo or Mane are leaving this summer which Iā€™m not onboard with but starting to wonder why Mo hasnā€™t resigned.

Maybe PSG are resigned to losing Mbappe and want Mo as his replacement. Heā€™s won the league and Champions League with us big chance for more silverware this season and may grab Afcon he may think his time is up with us. We clearly arent meeting his number and we know PSG would give him double our offer in a heart beat. Maybe his head has been turned.

If they arenā€™t in contract trouble, I donā€™t see how we might be in for Saka or Martinelli. I know we tested the water with Saka before he signed a new deal, but that looks to have sailed now. I could see Sterling go to Arsenal and Saka to Man City.

As a piece of speculation, Mane keeps destroying Arsenal, so maybe they would do some sort of deal involving Mane and Martinelli? Not sure I like the sound of that though, but such is the dearth of football at the moment Iā€™m reduced to posting crap like that!

Snowstorm in these parts, making me lose my mind.

Never quite got the Saka hype. Seems a bit too timid for my liking given the physical gifts he has.

Could see the rationale behind looking at him a couple years ago when his contract was winding down but for what heā€™d cost Iā€™m not sure heā€™s what we need.

Iā€™ve been hesitant to admit it, but yeah this is me as well. It wasnt just that Southgate was picking him for big games when other seemingly more talented players were available, it was that there was such acceptance of it. I just assumed I was the one who was wrong and was probably because I hadnt paid enough attention to Arsenal in a while (or England). I still donā€™t see it, and am still willing enough to accept that is my fault, especially if we genuinely pursue him.

I have been unimpressed with his defensive contribution and his general off the ball work. He spends an awful lot of time just stood still and waiting for things to happen - maybe heā€™s trying to mimic Messi in that regard but with the best will in the world Saka isnā€™t Messi.

On the ball he comes alive, has that pace and close control but I do agree that heā€™s not as physical as I would like.

Really? Feel like Iā€™ve been watching a different player than then comments here. To me he always looks dangerous on the pitch and seems a great character off it. Would have him at LFC in a heartbeat

Arteta will take over from Pep and yes he might take Saka or ESR with him.

Agree, still a kid really Saka only 20 not even in his prime years yet and already operating at a very high level.

If Mo goes which I hope he doesnt heā€™d be the one iā€™d want.

Arsenal fans do moan about his work rate for the team.

Corriere Dello Sport /a very solid source for Italian based players/ mentioned Liverpool as one of the interested clubs, but the list is very long :).
