The Unreliable Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 1)

Mbappe apparently is so desperate to play for Klopp that he’s agreed wages of $50 per week.

And a hug after every game.

Yeah , he doesnt care about money at all. All he needs is some love.

It wasn’t that long ago that Klopp hugs were the defining factor in players coming here. Now it’s an added bonus alongside joining an elite team.

I could remember the time that we struggled to get players… Cant deny that even this piece of shit reporting gets me upbeat on how much we have come with Klopp.

To be used as a stepping stone to finally being touted as a final destination…

If its a no brainer for Klopp/Edwards in terms of finances , then Ive got confidence that they will get any transfer done. Its probably a case that (even if sadio leaves which is looking more likely , we dont need an mbappe)

The reality is that Mbappe would stagnate as a player if he joins amy other club except Bayern , Liverpool and City(to some extent).

I dont see any other club where he improves as a player after him joining there.

Yeah at most top clubs development isn’t their aim, they want a squad of ready made stars to compete for as many honours as possible and there is usually minimum improvement for players during their time there. Certainly someone who is already the level of Mbappe can’t develop much further in most places.

Any young player who wants to play for one of the world’s greatest teams, under the world’s greatest coach, need look no further than Anfield. It’s that simple. But if they want to pursue unfathomable riches then they can fuck off and play for an Arab state’s propaganda machine.

Think Sancho will be regretting his move to United already. One year of a footballers career is a huge amount of stagnation. Keeping in mind that their playing career at the highest level is at the max 13 years despite the improvements in fitness etc

Coutinho was still a work in progress when Barca signed him and that derailed his career to the extent that hes left picking up the pieces of it later at aston villa , no disrespect to them …

Hazard as well… For that matter.

He won’t develop as a player at City, because he will fit into a system that inhibits creativity on a wider scale.
Grealish cannot magically immerse himself in the constant recycling of the ball, and looks a lot less of a player than when he was at Villa.
Sterling developed under Pep because his wilder football brain has been curtailed and he now plays in the system Pep has developed.

Klopp encourages the creativity/wildness and imagination but also demands the hard work that goes with it. Salah, Thiago, Firmino, Mane can express themselves and still be team players first and formost.
Mbappe wont be better under Pep, but he will be the best he can be under Klopp.

Mbappe would probably be a better footballer with Klopp than he would be under Pep but the baldie cunt would improve him though , not as much as he would improve under Klopp but still…

What most people fail to realise as well as clubs is that mbappe (as scary good as he is) is still a work in progress…

If he realizes that , he would make a decision to make himself available to the team that would get him the best possible chance to grow as a footballer. Dortmund isnt an option anymore for his likes as hes grown beyond them.

But as always… The money etc etc will win out and mbappe will choose the easier way out

I hope mbappe if he comes to liverpool insists on klopp signing an extension.

I just don’t think Mbappe is a Klopp type player, even though he speaks impressively about him. I think Jurgen needs every player to press, and I don’t think this is in Mbappe’s game, well at least I haven’t seen it. I doubt it’s a requirement at PSG, but still, haven’t see it from him. I can’t think of a first team player for us that doesn’t press and track back. On the bench I would say Origi is the player that’s the worst at pressing and tracking back. Anyone have verified insight to this part of mbappes game?

The same was said of Mane and Salah before they came here, the freedom Mbappe gets at PSG is because they are managed by an average manager. I’d expect if he was sold on coming here he’d quickly pick up our pressing, it actually is one of our biggest chance creators.

(not that I think we are signing Mbappe btw).

Only reason I am giving this any bit of hope is because this makes some logical sense IMO (and obviously because I would love him here):

  1. Come to a team that is ready for success now, RM will have to rebuild their midfield over the next few years.

  2. Get to work with Klopp in your formidable years. We may get to rent his services for a few years and then use him to fund the full rebuild in a few years when Klopp decides to call it a day. He doesn’t need to end up at his last club right now.

  3. If anyone knows how to sell this to his entourage it’s FSG. He’s still incredibly young, and if he really wants to follow the Ronaldo path (his boyhood idol) then he still needs to do it in the PL. The Spanish league will rebound, but it will take time. Right now we are in the Era of PL dominance. Go try and conquer that league, and do it with Klopp. Screw the nation owned clubs.

One can dream

Salah critique was easy to dismiss because of how he played for Roma. He already worked hard and pressed. Mane I can’t remember. But for sure, yes, PSG does not play with way, it’s impossible with Neymar in your side.

Any remote hope, and it’s tiny, is linked to how either PSG or RM fare past this round.

And Messi, their midfield basically has to run for 5 players not 2!
