The Unreliable Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 2)

Not playing and having better competition, so we can allow more games and minutes without pushing him, managing his minutes better in healthy rotation is different. I can easily see us having Thiago and Nunes + whoever can do a job there for that LCM role next season. Doesn’t mean Thiago will be rusty if he doesn’t play every minute of every game, that’s actually what shouldn’t happen at this stage of his careeer. He was never a machine for playing 50+ games a season. There’s rhythm and players of different styles and quality. I don’t think Thiago will suffer if he doesn’t start every game, might actually help him.

Would like to take a guy like him and a guy like Naby and you split the time between the two of them. 60min/30min splits if they’re sharing the same role to keep fresh legs, or rotate them with Elliott/Henderson over the two #8’s

doesn’t help when 3 of the four are brittle, though. really do need a destroyer in that midfield to put the fear of god into the other team. Imagine what a prime Patrick Viera would do in our squad, or a Makelele or another Mascherano

Sometimes you just need to be blunt and honest.

Sorry no and you can have that in several languages.

Very few players I can think of off the top of my head like them nowadays, but yes you’d kill for any 1 of them…I’d even kill for a prime Michael Carrick, Gareth Barry or even Robbie Savage right now.

I’d rather Lily Savage.

Is Mac Allister a Thiago controller type of player? If so I’d be all for signing him.

If McAllister signed an extension at Brighton to give them a payday, on the understanding that it wouldn’t be a ridiculous sum, but they would get something modest rather than let him leave for free, then I would be interested.

40M seems fair.

If there’s no arrangement and instead Brighton see Caicedo money coming their way, or near enough, then swerve it.

Stevie G - What a player! Could do everything. Love a prime Stevie G in this team.

Just imagine him in Jurgens system laying passes on to Mo & Sadio, linking up with Bobby and gegen pressing and now playing those same passes to Nunez.

He would have been Jurgens dream midfielder

I need some tissues after watching that, you do forget how good he was

Don’t understand fans worrying about transfer fees etc. If it’s £35 million buy him, if they want £55 million forget it.
I just want players who are good enough for us.

If MacAllister is the main midfield signing, then the money is less of an issue.

I’m hoping we sign Bellingham as the main man. Then after that we will be looking at signings in the mid to lower price range, presumably. If Brighton want an upper level fee for MacAllister, as they do for Caicedo, I would move on. There are lots of midfielders in the mid bracket we could sign.

Really miss that sort of long range shooting. We never seem to score those kind of goals these days.

How many times do we see Mo move inside and not lay it off, he would, if he had Stevie there as he knows he has a blunderbuss of a right foot

13 minutes will spent. Complete midfielder, no player in world comes closer to what he did.

Seen Nunes three times, not seen anything to say there isn’t better out there.

I haven’t hit the mandated ten full games, admittedly, but I fail to see what the fuss is about.

I think reading the small print if you see him in 3 full games rather than 10 youtube compliations you can make a review.

I just look at him v’s Bajcetic and if anything young Stefan edges it.

I get Nunes was being played in a weird wide midfielder/forward type role but even still, I think it’s £50mil saved to other things.

Yeah I’m yet to be impressed, of course our mind only computes a selection of what we see (thanks Cricket book) but nothing stand out.

Bajectic meanwhile you can tell there is a player there.
