The Unreliable Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 2)

I know you hate FSG but can you stop posting that twitter account, the owner of said account has known links to the s*n. It’s bad enough you lap up the bullshit it posts.

Also, we as mods have said countless times to restrict posting of Twitter bullshitters who quote news from other sources, often without providing links to original content. If you’re going to post such stuff, try to quote the real source.

Tweet revised…

Tweet has been revised.

Thanks, although I do fail to see how being linked to signing one of the next generation of potential worldclass superstar players on a free is somehow seen as negative for FSG…

I have never said anything about FSG about Gavi yet…

Gavi would be a fantastic signing.

Why is it starting to look like that?

If anything it’s starting to look like we don’t even have an appropriate fucking basket

It will be atrocious if he goes elsewhere, AND we fail to upgrade the midfield.

I hope we sign Bellingham, but he has his choice of pretty much every club in the world. I’m glad we appear to be in there for him, and hopefully it has some substance that he will come to us. But if not, there are other midfielders.

Imagining things that havent happened and getting mad about them is not a great way to go about the day

I am sure that’s the plan we are hatching

It’s risky though when cracks start to appear

We have to be fast and not have a last minute scramble or our plans will go off the boil.

If it’s not evident yet that over 60% of the so called 200 million kitty will be used in signing him. There has to be legs in it , when so much has been reported about us approaching him. Dare I say, There’s no smoke without fire.

But, I must say, I didn’t realize it was such a controversial thing to say in my post

No one is doubting he is a priority. What I asked is what indicates we have put all our eggs in that basket…indicating that if we miss him we have no alternative, or that even if we get him we’re not going to be able to do anything else?

Remember, the absence of news (from a famously tight lipped organization) is the same thing as the absence of action.

Basically, you vibing yourself into being an Eyore and pretending there is validity to your feelings of doom

I actually think we are in the prime seat to sign him I just don’t know if finances will be in place to do it.

I do wonder if we are waiting on investment far more than most think we are.

We need two so I’m not bothered about any other links.

Could you tell my missus that?

If he is priority, then it means we will be gutted to miss out on him, as the whole world appears to be quite explicit about the fact that we are after him. That’s all my post really said. There’s no need to hyperbolize gutted feeling into some sort of doom/gloom.

We have been a victim of this sort of transfer strategy in the past, going after one player or bust. Sometimes it worked and sometimes, it ended up in dismay. (e.g. Van Djik and Tchounameni). There may have been alternatives sought, but at least in present , everything points only towards him, isn’t it ?

And, about the question of , if we get him, we are not going to able to do anything else. That will either depend on remaining money available or money fetched by sales. Although, The last thing I want to do here is dig into FSG’s heels on what they will do. FSG is untouchable !! :pinched_fingers:

You seem to have a unique definition of putting our eggs in one basket.

Again, working on the assumption that what you know of what is happening is a reflection of what is happening is a really bad framework.
