If Milner leaves as well then that’s 40 games a season we need to cover from midfield (Milner 37, Ox 2 and Naby 1).

Posted in the twitter thread. Apparently very reliable when it comes to Uruguayan players. Followed by Ugarte himself on Twitter.
Whats the story on this guy? #6, #8? I don’t know anything about him
Number 6 in the vein of a Mascherano or a Kante. Destroyer who puts himself about and gets tons of yellow cards
Don’t trust what others say they know about Manuel. Ugarte see him for yourself to decide.
Ugarte and Mac Allister as our first two signings this summer for around £100mil would be a wet dream. Exactly what we need.
funny story…
i was in Menorca in 88 (?) and aged 13 my parents said I could have one of those fake football shirts on the very last day and to feel like a grown up i even put some of my holiday money towards it…i chose Juve with 9 RUSH on the back, Ariston sponser, black and white stripes and made by Kappa (albeit as fake it wasnt). My dad said as we got to the till there are 100s of shirts in here you sure you want this one as its basically the colour as your Sunday leagues away kit - why not go Barca or Real etc. Nope i wanted that one.
Came home the next day, flicked on CEEFAX page 302 for football and what was at the top in flashing capitals…
IAN RUSH COMPLETES RETURN TO LIVERPOOL
Didnt I look a twat at football training in my already dated Juve shirt…
Some other bits that have come up online.
A Spanish source saying Barca potentially interested in Thiago with Neil Jones saying he faces a battle to prove his worth long term to Klopp.
Fabrizio Romano yesterday giving the eyes emoji to a tweet from a month ago about us having a meeting with Mac Allister to sell him the project.
Paul Joyce also writing that Mac Allister is high on the list of our priorities.
He now needs surgery and is now out for the season, and will possibly miss pre-season too.
Would take anything for him. I’d be prepared to just get his wages off the books at this point.
Glorious footballer, but rapidly heading in the Keita zone, where it’s irrelevant how good a player is if he can’t get fit.
We don’t really have another player like him in the squad either so when he’s available the team plays very differently to when he’s not.
Sadly I think he’s been a bit of a bust and we’ll lose him for nowt next summer now as this injury will put off any suitors this summer.
Him, Ox, Keita, Gini, Lallana and Can all going on bosmans does somewhat point to an issue with us finding either midfielders we value enough to keep around or suitors for those we are happy to move on from.
My perfect scenario would be to have Thiago and a similar player to him sharing game time next season. So we don’t need to have Thiago on the pitch whenever he’s fit, but pick games, periods, moments. Whoever merits it more. We’re probably assessing now how much can Jones give us next season. Thiago might still get an offer from a CL club, we might sit together and say to each other “yeah, it’s best for all”. But I know we had a lot of games and periods in games this season when we lacked his qualities. The change in structure now raises some questions again, how will it look going forward.
Perhaps we can get Melo on loan from Juve, I hear he can play a bit …
Not sure it’s really either. In Ox’s, Keita’s and Lallana’s case their injury issues have been so severe their value is basically 0. I actually think there were a couple of suitors for the first two, but we were rigid in too-high valuations and as a result killed any potential deals… and you can include the likes of Nat in that as well. Hopefully we’ve learned a lesson there, that accepting less now for a player who’ll only be a drain on resources without contributing anything is perfectly acceptable.
In Can’s and Gini’s case they just wanted to leave at a time of their choosing and have a range of options to choose from, not much we could have done in either case.
We’ll have to see what happens with Thiago. I hope that if offers do come in we don’t once again bat them away because they don’t meet our pie in the sky valuation.
I can’t remember, he’s so rarely match fit.

Liverpool have presented their project and also financial proposal to Alexis Mac Allister. The club will insist in the next weeks; discussions advancing but agreement not done yet. #LFC Feeling remains Alexis will 100% leave Brighton and it will be early, May or June.
Team of Macs 2.0.
So long as it doesn’t include McTominay, Im fine with that
McCallister would be one of several I would like to see.
I do think matching Brighton’s achievement really is desirable.
high wages, low value. we’re in the top 0.001% of wages in all of football so it’s really not surprising that other clubs don’t want our overpaid cast-offs.
I’d be willing to bet all of the players on that list have or will take a drop in salary on their next contract. That’s why they don’t agree to a transfer with a year left.
