And IndyKalia’s massive “news” is that in the past few hours we have supposedly contacted Bayern Munich about Pavard. He also claims that our Jurgen has already spoken to the player.

I know it’s bullshit but you could see why we’d like Pavard, excellent at center back and right back. He could play numerous positions in the new formation.

MacAllister, Ugarte, Thuram, Kone…

One way to interpret this is “Bellingham is pretty fucking elite” and better than these two at everything. The other is “OK, we can get something close for half the price”.

This would be about right, Bellingham is an utter freak he excels at pretty much all aspects of the game.

Got a dodgy knee though, so glad we swerved him…

Or the 2 others combined are better than Bellingham

Have to say, I like these rumours. Starting to be linked with players who make a lot of sense.

I think we are signing Bellingham, Mbappe, Neymar and Harry Macguire

The players we linked with are big, strong and quick and that’s exactly what our midfield is lacking.

Well two of the three are. Mac Allister isn’t any of those three things.

And you what else the other two have in common, they both only just turned 22. That’s pretty young all things considered and would still mean there’s a big gap between the older more experienced heads who are 30 plus and the next wave coming through.

If it was those three this summer I could see Mac Allister walking into our best 11 but the other two lads would be coming to fight for a place. There’s still a lot of growth and development needed from them yet before we start talking about them taking over that midfield unit.

Suddenly we have a German Sporting Director and a bucket load of German players come up. All these so called experts are drips under pressure.

Thuram and Kone make huge sense and I am delighted. I am not sure our midfield needs any real specialist - just great, athletic allrounders.

I am interested in the TAA debate now. Will he stay “inverted”. If we base our system around that then we need a backup RB who can do much the same.

Maybe best to curb the enthusiasm until we actually sign someone!
