Thuram’s the one I want. 6’3 181 lbs, athletic, and an absolute man-beast two-way player who’s good defensively but also offers qualities going forward.
If we get Mac Allister too that could be the dynamic duo to power our midfield for the next 4-5 years.
Realistically I don’t see LFC buying more than 3 significant players.
Give me Thuram, Mac Allister, and Jules Kounde and we’d be set to make another run at the league title.
Obviously if we could have Barella instead of Mac Allister that would be even better but I feel he’s a pipe dream. It still doesn’t make sense to me for Inter to give up their best player for just cash. Are they that strapped for finances?
Right… but it’s not that hard to nutmeg some idiot running onto the pitch who has never played professional footy in his life. That would be like me bragging about nutmegging someone’s gran.
My take on Kone is that he would be a good Caicedo alternate, at about half the price.
If we ended up with MacAllister, Kone and Thuram for somewhere in the ballpark of a Bellingham, it’s a no brainer. It remains to be seen if we sign two or three midfielders.
Add Bajcetic, Jones and Elliott and we have fantastic options. Plus of course whatever remains of the old guard after summer, to help steer the young talent through.
I think Colwill might be possible in defence due to Chelsea’s need to try to balance their fake books for FFP, but if not, I’ve a sneaking suspicion it will be Van de Ven.
It will be interesting to see how it all shapes up.
The alternatives to Tchouameni were apparently Ibrahim Sangare, Kouadio Kone, Florian Neuhaus and Matheus Nunes.

Christ almighty. The season ended two days ago. What’s the fucking hold up?!
You’re right the entire account is one.
I like how we’ve assumed that these links mean we’d be in for both Thuram and Kone as well as Mac Allister and not that we may well be exploring options.
I think the one frustration is that if it was indeed one, two or all three of these then at least Kone and Thuram were names being bandied around last summer, albeit more from fans than anyone with any reliable info.
Didn’t think they were needed last summer. Didn’t think they were worth doing instead of Gakpo in January. Yes they’ve another important season of experience under their belts but Kone and Thuram haven’t exactly had breakout seasons or taken giant leaps forward from where they were as players last summer.
Happy to have any and all here but it feels like a year lost waiting and hoping on Bellingham.

We lost about 50m by not making CL (prize money alone), that’s a decent midfielder right there. Perfect example of a stupid business decision.

There is no guarantee that new midfielder purchased last summer would have resulted in CL qualification. It’s tempted the link the two as if they are cause and effect, but it’s never that simple.

To be honest most transfer news breaks around 10pm as it’s when the UK journalists publish there stuff in that days paper.
Didn’t say midnight which day either.
