Klopp once said something about Sturridge and he would more than ever (in our current financial situation) say the same thing about Matip. 'I will not sell Sturridge because it would be too expensive to replace him.
And compared to other injury prone players (Sturridge, Keita, Ox, Lallana) Matip doesn’t need game time to find form. When he is on the pitch he is world class.
If we have 3 or 4 other CBs (+ Fabinho) than Matips games and fitness can be managed better and he is clearly one to keep. At least we will have VvD, Gomez, Davies (and Fabinho) from preseason on.
