Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on RB Leipzig captain David Raum having been impressed with the 27-year-old Germany left-back during scouting missions this season. (Teamtalk)
Would be sad but I think it’s quite likely that Alisson will be off in the summer.
Has he got his coaching badges? I think that’s the only way he’ll be featuring in the Prem next season.
Former Liverpool and Paris St-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is keen to make a return to the Premier League next season, with the 35-year-old Dutchman’s contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq expiring this summer. (Sky Sports)
I don’t think they’re referring to that, but the possibility of us offering him another longer term contract, even with this +1 club option extension that was always (as Pearce reported a while ago) viewed as more of a formality than a decision that had to be taken. So, will he be here post 2027.
Yeah, I understood it like that. Since the +1 club option extension is already done. So now there could be discussions whether his next season is really his last with us, or could there be more…
Nice grouping here by the BBC. Should make @mattyhurst happy.
Liverpool want Bazoumana Toure in the summer. The 20-year-old Ivory Coast winger has excelled for Hoffenheim this season and could spark the Anfield club’s attack back into life. (Teamtalk), external
Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate is close to agreeing a new contract to stay at Anfield. The 26-year-old France international was expected to leave this summer but could now sign a four-year extension. (RMC - in French), external
Borussia Dortmund and Germany centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck, 26, has a release clause of about £43m-£52m which only applies to three clubs - including Liverpool and Real Madrid, but not Bayern Munich.(Bild - in German)
Hope Schlotterbeck materialises,be more than happy with that.
CB is a recurring issue it seems and with VVD toward the end of his career and Konate being erratic, we have young lads ahead, so Schlotterbeck makes all kinds of sense.
Considering Gomez seems set to leave. Extending Konate’s contract and having schlotterbeck in along with Jacquet , Leoni would allow us to have a pretty good defensive unit.
The challenge is to replace Gomez with someone who’s more of a utility LB/RB player. Livramento seems unttainable but he fits the bill. Tsimikas can do the job as the second LB.
I don’t see us going for Schlotterbeck this summer at all, with him playing in Virgil’s position, one important investement for Jacquet already made and if we’re indeed close to prolonging with Konate.
