The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 4)

Doesnt Dumfries have his own injury problems?

Not sure he’s particularly good either…

Did Joyce actually say that or is that some more ITK BS linking a well-known Dutch RB with our Dutch coach?

I’d be surprised to see us spend even half that much on a 30 year old.

It’s from this article below. Just says we were interested in January but we got Jacquet over the line instead and we might go back for him in the summer.

What’s the five point plan Joyce gives?

  • No more slip-ups
  • Improve style of play
  • Bringing the best out of game-changers
  • More signings needed
  • Start next season well

That’s a valid point, of course. I’ve been dreading the moments of his, Van Dijk’s and Salah’s departures for two years at least… Same with Mane, who the club still haven’t replaced.

That said, I don’t think that we’ve seen him (or almost any of the other lads) at his best this season. Bar Crystal Palace away, I don’t remember him having an outstanding game or saving some chances he used to save at his best, i.e. making the difference he used to make. @redfanman asked the other day whether his diminishing save rate was down to the team conceding higher quality chances but I didn’t get that impression from Beasley’s stat analysis - actually, he was implying we were seeing a goalkeeper in decline.

There was also a stretch of games where he would pass/kick the ball to an opponent, leading to us conceding a chance, so I wouldn’t be using his ability on the ball as a stick to beat Mamardashvili with. That said, Mamardashvili really needs to improve in that aspect, as well as coming off his line, as @Obanite said. However, I would expect him to improve in everything if/when he’s given a proper run in the side, when his teammates and he get to know each other’s playing style.

Looking forward to seeing João Gomes filling in at right back next season with Dumfries and Frimpong providing cover on the bench.

Is he the guy we were looking to sign a couple of years ago during a winter window but his club refused because they were in the Lebertadores?

That was André.

Liverpool are willing to pay 60m euros (£51.9m) to sign Morocco winger Abde Ezzalzouli, 24, from Real Betis . (Fichajes - in Spanish)

Whoever he is…. We will never know as it is in Fichajes.

And at a certain point, he was dropped for 42-year old Pasveer, but then won his place again. Pasveer left in January.

Adding Dumfries to the question marks we have will be exactly a “Liverpool in the summer of 2025” move.

He was part of that generation who came through at Barca with Fati and Gavi who started getting games when the financial restrictions first started being felt. Of course that’s never actually stopped them spending so he was soon forced out and sold to fund another signing they couldn’t afford.

I don’t think I’ve seen him play since he left, maybe for Morocco during the World Cup, but it makes sense he’d by now be reappearing on the radar of big clubs after a few seasons away establishing himself.

Some rumours that we’re looking to involve Di Gregorio as part of the Alisson deal to Juventus. Not sure how that will work financially, if we take a potential Alisson sale as one of those outgoings to generate money? I know there’s the factor of Alisson’s wages, too.

Like I said a few days ago, I’m pretty sure we will indeed bring another goalkeeper if Alisson leaves, someone to compete with Mamardashvili (but of course, initially come more as a backup on paper).

I’m not convinced by this movement honestly. But time will tell and I’ll have to be patient to see how it works out. I’d rather have Alisson for one more year than shift to Mamardashvili & Di Gregorio right now.

He’s shite.

That’s my in-depth technical analysis btw

Seems to be all coming from Juve and they are doing the usual stuff. Alisson is probably happy to go and may want to go but ultimately we will have to agree and I assume we will want cash. Woodman and Jaros is better than him.

I’m convinced everyone from Serie A is shit nowadays.:melting_face:

Maybe we could tie him down now but allow him to stay at RBL for another season? If we are really that desperate to get him, that is.

Liverpool could miss out on Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande as the 19-year-old is likely to stay at RB Leipzig for at least another year. (Christian Falk via CFBayerninsider)
