The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 4)

I suppose he counts as home grown. But that’s a hell of a lot for a player I regard as a liability.

Ah its Teamtalk… relax.

I noticed he was mentioned in that piece on young German midfielder but as a name that still interested us, I have a feeling that is the source knowing them.

Think Hughes is going to have to go back to his roots a bit and pull out a couple of the more under the radar gems.

If we’re spending £50m on Jaquet and possibly £100m on Diomande then we’re going to need to find a Kroupi, Rayan, Semenyo type for the other forward option or a Kerkez/Truffet type for full back cover.

It’s what he’s had great success with so would be nice to see a bit of that this summer rather than stumping up a big fee for the obvious choice again.

I mean Kroupi and Rayan haven’t taken long at all to make their mark.
Does Hughes thing he can only go for expensive options now that he’s at LFC?

This is exactly what I think we’ll do. Splash the cash on a “sure thing” and then look for under the radar value (or a Bowen like veteran) as a versatile depth option.

Diomande and Barcola. With Bowen as a cut price backup option. Simples

Wait until you see we also need a new midfield and half a defence too!

I hope it doesn’t prove to be another Khvaratskhelia situation. Slightly different, as PSG were some way down the line there before we tried to sign him, but the point is, going head to head with PSG is tricky at this stage.

Presumably they are selling Barcola and Diomande is their option to strengthen, so arguably we might sign Barcola if we miss out on Diomande.

I think we should take Mark Goldbridge’s advice and steer clear of Barcola!

He made the comparison with Joao Neves who United wanted but who moved to PSG. United then bought Ugarte as he was no longer wanted there. Barcola could be our Ugarte.

I noted that Enrique wasn’t very impressed with Barcola recently. (Can’t remember why, might have been work rate or professionalism).

I hope we sign Diomande.

Barcola is not in PSG’s XI when they’re all fit anymore, that little possible genius in the making called Doue pushed him out of the side. That said, they’ve had injuries because of their long last season getting to two European and World finals. Took them a while to have their best team on the pitch. Which meant Barcola had a return in terms of minutes and form. They don’t have a lot of depth, but it is a question for Diomande whether going to PSG right now is the best option.

He’d be an option there. He’d be a nailed down starter here.

And you would take a yanited fanatics advice?

I hope we sign both.

Diomande seems our number one option.

He does seem to have a bit of a fondness for LFC. Or at least he admires the way the club is run, in comparison to how Utd is run.

And I think he has a valid point. I’d be wary of buying someone’s castoffs.

Diomande? Who would he start over?
