Someone strip him of his award.
Compete with Doue, Barcola, Dembele, Kvara and Mbaye for minutes or guaranteed starter and still the chance to move to PSG in a few years.
Personally Iâm not in the camp of paying ÂŁ100m for someone with such a small body of work but if we run away at the first time someone else is interested in a player weâll get nowhere fast.
Liverpool are keen on RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande but have yet to reach a verbal agreement over a deal for the 19-year-old Ivory Coast striker. (Sky Sports)
Apparently Florian claims Klopp is involved in trying to keep him, though Florianâs rate is pretty bad so.

FFS. We are the serial CL winners; they are the different colour plastics
Nah, wonât happen.
Unless Madridâs first bid is âWait till your contract expires and we can sign you for free!â
Which part wasnât true?
We are definitely not broke. If that was the case we wouldnât be concretely involved with Diomande.
We literally gave PSG their toughest tie (without resorting to negative tactics) just a year ago and I believe we can soon do it again with the right recruitment and coaching change.
We are definitely in the game.
Not broke, but not with unlimited funds like PSG.
A lot has happened in those 15 months.
Spoiling the ship for a haâpâorth of tar
With Salah, Robbo and Konate off the wage bill, I assume the club has found some breathing space when it comes to finances. Also, I hope for a bit more of that if the likes of Mac Allister, Chiesa, Endo and Gomez are sold. I donât expect miracles even with Champions League participation but I think weâre good to buy four new players and perhaps give more chances to the likes of Nyoni and Morrison.
I think there is also a big question around whether we can make better use of loans or some of the free transfers out there than we have been able or willing to do in the past.
That is the usual argument against being disciplined, yes.
Sorry, not sure I get what youâre saying there @Arminius
I meant that for the sake of an extra ÂŁ5m we ended up with a worse defence
FSG has a valuation model that they apply to transfers and wages, and they are incredibly reluctant to sanction a transfer that doesnât adhere to that model. In the first couple of years as it was being developed, the transfers that were questionable versus the models were often the ones we all ended up regretting - which simply has increased their adherence to the model. It isnât perfect, and it is revised every year, but the discipline of sticking to it avoids a roster filled with dross like a knackered Joe Cole.
That is inevitably going to lead to situations where we end up a comparatively small amount apart (but keep in mind we had a deal for Guehi in place) and donât secure the player. But if you weaken the discipline for one transfer, you soon find it coming up in every conversation - and every negotiation. A club absolutely doesnât want to develop the reputation of being easy to hold up at the 11th hour for another ÂŁ5M.
It is possible that Guehi might have improved our defence. It is also possible that another 5M earlier would have been enough to get the deal done. It is even possible that Slot thinks our defence would have been better if the transfer had gone ahead. But I really donât think it would have made a huge difference. We have had far greater problems at that position in the past and struggled through. Guehi would not have solved the problem of a midfield that was easy to pass through and didnât seem to be able to press or track back. Nor would he have addressed the chronic problem at right back. Our defence would likely have been only marginally better - and yes, perhaps that would be enough for 3rd. But I think having the disciplined framework pays off over time.
