Have to say I disagree on being from the left. The difference if he is in the middle is he can go all over the final third and impact the game, that is what we want from a player with his abilities.
Why is there so much obsession with Wirtz as a number 10 when, technically, he played most games as a left-sided number 10, which is a hybrid between a winger and a number 10?
I believe Wirtz would be more effective if he were given the license to play closer to the opponent’s box rather than wasting his energy roaming too much. I’d say forcing him to be the main playmaker was one of Slot’s biggest mistakes last season.

He wasnt at all the main playmaker. Number 10 should be close to the opponents box. He never got the ball. Our midfield can´t give it to him.

That seems a little odd given the differences in league position, underlying strength of the squads and recent histories of the two clubs. Perhaps he is guaranteed starts there and a bigger wage?
Also, if they view last season’s performance as a temporary thing then competing for european places this season would be a quick win for him
