The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 4)

Full of stale crumbs? I know the feeling

We used to say ā€œhe’s got a head like a three penny bitā€. But there’s not many people on here who will know what that was.

Isn’t that what a pound coin looks like now?

Yes, they both have 12 sides.

Yep that is one that was used when I was really young and morphed into a Sheriffs badge

He had a good summer, and was particularly ahead on the Nunez/isak transfers which both obviously have links to the middle east, but I still wouldn’t put Jacobs as reliable enough for starting a thread - even with Salahs interview in earlier in the week.

Still, we know these rumours are gonna swirl now and this gives us a list of the particular clubs he might end up at if he does go.

NEOM and Al-Quadisah play a flat 442, I can’t see them being interested in a right forward unless they think Mo can oust Abbas Al-Hassan or Christopher Bonsu Baah from their right midfield slots.

Used to love a ā€˜thrupney bit’ in my pocket money

Who would be buying Mo? Saudi Arabia or a club in Saudi Arabia? Either way, I don’t think they will have to do too much to get their man.

Saudi Arabia is prepared to do ā€œwhatever it canā€ to bring Liverpool and Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, 33, to the Saudi Pro League in January. (Gulf News), external

Liverpool is the preferred destination for Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo, 25, when he leaves Bournemouth. (Team Talk)

And …

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, 25, remains keen on a move to Liverpool but Barcelona have also shown an interest in the England international. (Team Talk)

If MO is to be sold, and it is inevitable the egg-timer providers would come sniffing around, would MO want to take his young daughters to Saudi though…
We watch this space eh

Good point, about his daughters, may well be why he is not obviously,at least, over the moon about it.

He could play in Saudi but have his family live in Egypt, which isn’t very far away.

Yeah, though it also depends where.

Stevie lived in Bahrain and drove to Dammam. But that’s really close.

At the rate he’s been stinking up the left wing, we might need competition for Gakpo on the left as well. We could deploy Hugo but he is more of a central striker or one of a two up front

If we sign Semenyo, he can probably do that too.

100% he can. The Athletic had a neice piece on him a few months back showing a fairly even distribution of having played on the right, left, or even behind the striker and it not impacting his stats much or even the way he plays.

Other than the question of talent that he’d still need to answer, he is pretty much a plug and play option for this front line.

Taking nepotism too far!

Well, looks like we’ll have at least one addition to the squad in January unless we either leave him cast adrift at Villa or find some way around the rules.

Real shame for the lad, every time you think he might have a chance to kick on something goes wrong for him.
