The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 5)

If it’s a choice between Forest this year or Milan next then I’m guessing he’s happy to sit tight.

it would be better for us financially if Jones joined Forest, given the HG premium.

unfortunately we cant force him to join anyone though,

maybe he will hang around another year and see how things pan out with Iraola,
before deciding on his next move

There are a couple of ways to go if VVD is away.

  1. Get in an experienced CB (not top notch but some one who has been around) for a year to cover the two that we have on the books. If the two take then great. If the waters get a bit choppy then steer toward a signing next summer.
  2. Get in a 80-90 M CB, a starter, but on a lower starting salary

I dunno. As I said, I’m easy as to which path we take. At this stage there are so many variables, no one thing is going to make of break anything as far as next season goes.

So no Diomande - where do we turn next? I’m not as high on Barcola as others. I wonder if we’d talk to Bournemouth about Rayan, but Iraola will know best there.

Rayan feels unlikely. We will hit the same problem as we did with Diomande and Leipzig, Bournemouth won’t want to sell him so soon after signing him. So it will cost far too much to get him out of there. Next summer seems more possible.

Barcola seems possible with PSG after Diomande and rumors of Kroupi as well. With PSG being open to selling, a better price seems possible too. Barcola would at least be another nice injection of pace into the attack.

There is the other players that got name dropped when we were leaking through journalists that we wouldn’t go too high for Diomande. Yankuba Minteh, Said El Mala and Matias Fernandez-Pardo. None as exciting as Diomande but all have potential to improve. Minteh would probably cost more then I like though.

Yeah, I was literally just thinking about Rayan.

As for Bournemouth selling after six months… he wouldn’t be cheap, that’s for sure, but buy-low, sell-high is basically their transfer model, and they could potentially triple or even quadruple their investment from one transfer window to the next.

I couldn’t speak to how likely it is, but I wouldn’t rule it out. Particularly being a player our new manager knows and rates.

Can we discuss that in who would you buy….

How about you go fuck yourself, Matty?

No, but seriously, fair point.

Nah it’s aimed generally to be honest.

Is Mo still available?

A bit of perspective please…

Guy wouldn’t even been on a list of potential signings less than 12 months ago.

A bombshell :see_no_evil_monkey:

Monaco’s French midfielder Maghnes Akliouche, 25, has told Liverpool and Manchester United that his priority is to join Paris St-Germain this summer. (Teamtalk)

This is odd because the only link I can find is from the same source that reports this, all the other links seem to be Spurs and PSG. So cheers Maghnes, we never asked. Assume it’s the churn of links that every transfer shoves our name on it.

Yes, I’m sure we’re about to drop >150M on two wingers when we have Munoz and Rio already.

Indy might be spot on with one of them, but both? At least try to be plausible. :joy:

I refuse to believe that there isn’t a single full back playing in the Championship that would be an option. There have got to be other Robbos out there… when you consider the number of top players we have brought in from lower league clubs in the past, it makes me wonder whether we even have any “scouts” now.

Also there was a young winger playing against us for Barnsley in the FA Cup last season. On the day he looked a real talent.. Reyes Cleary??

I simply will not believe that there isn’t a single young forward in the Championship who could have performed at least as well as Chiesa..

We don’t seem willing to take a punt on a lower league lad any more.
