Tell Elliott we have no intention like and let give him a new contract if he goes along with it.

That or just add a £20m + Premium on any deal.

Didn’t pay a lot of attention to their business as assumed they’d go the way of most other promoted teams and head straight back down.

Brobbey screamed Temu version of Lukaku to me. Big strong lad, decent pace but underwhelming given his traits. Probably one who’ll have enhanced his reputation with a couple of his performances and someone might be tempted to make a silly offer for.

Noah Sadiki I think will prove to be their most astute business. A good game against England and they’ll be asking Ā£100m when bigger clubs come sniffing around.

Interesting looking back at their business. Lots of less traditional footballing powerhouse nationalities in there. Ecuador, DR Congo, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Morocco. Wonder if that has some influence on prices where the equivalent English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese or Brazilian player would come with an added premium.

Also interesting they did three from the Belgian league. Again, maybe that’s a place they see value that perhaps once existed in other leagues. That or the Belgian teams have got better at recruiting and everyone has yet to really trust that market in the way they might do more so with a French or German league equivalent.

As with all teams that come up and over achieve the proof of how good their business was will be in if they can establish themselves and build on it or whether someone like Xhaka going would see a big regression.

Miss the days we could call Southampton and just tell them to ship their best player to us. I guess we could still do that though.

Honestly I’d rather sell Jones to Forest. He gets to stay in England and they have the money to offer a more decent fee.

I believe we have a buy back clause on Quansah if we really wanted him back.
It’s really up to Liverpool if they want to pay to bring him back though.

If the choice is between Wharton or Jones I’d rather have Wharton.

But who knows what will happen. We missed out on Diomande so a lot of Liverpool’s plans probably shifted overnight.

From a purely selfish perspective, I’d feel a bit sad seeing him playing against us

I get that. But if you think about it Jones would probably prefer to continue playing in England rather than move to a foreign league like Series A. It would be better for the player.

I think Jones is a decent player, a nice lad. But he never felt like a special player. Selling him to Forest is also way less dangerous to our ambitions in the League than when we sold Sterling to Manchester City. Now that one hurt.

We will have to sign a right back if he goes, oh wait I forgot Slot left.

I think that ended with the Lavia debacle. Or maybe they were trying to do us a favour in overpricing him.

Why would he prefer playing for Forest rather than Inter, far more chance of winning something with Inter than Forest.

I think he would prefer living in Milan to living in Nottingham, given his fondness for fancy fashion.

Personally, I think I’d prefer living just about anywhere to living in Nottingham.

I would like Scott to follow Iraola to us. Rate him higher than Anderson tbh. More talent and upside.

Jones is a good player and I hope he signs a new deal. He is well worth a place in the squad. I suppose it all boils down to how he sees himself. For me he would be fourth in the pecking order of a three man midfield, and would see plenty of action. If he wants to be a main man, he is just a little short of that at Liverpool and will probably move on.

I hope Iraola has a nice chat with him and he signs an extension, with an arrangement to leave next summer for a certain fee, if he barely features. I want him to have a season under the new manager to see what’s what.
