For UEFA you need to have been at the club for 2 years to qualify for the B list (free U21s). That’s why we were left with a choice between Rio and Chiesa last season for the last spot of 17 on the A list.

I don’t get your point, so did Mo and Lucho and Konate etc… History is no precursor to the future as last season’s results proved. Curtis has always been the weak link in our midfield and that’s why the managers of England and every other top club aren’t remotely interested in him. Even Harvey has more upside than CJ and a better attitude. Our big mistake was selling Tyler Morton instead of Curtis, as his first season in Ligue 1 has shown.

I will add that I wish nothing but the best for Curtis and am grateful for his efforts but admit to really wanting him gone as he is for me the most frustrating player in the squad.

Just want to opine that had Jones moved to France, he would have had a good season too. That’s not to denigrate Tyler Morton. The lad is doing well. But the French league is a bit easier than the Prem.
To my mind Jones is a good player and I hope he signs a new deal, but if not, best of luck to him.

And neither Slot or Klopp saw enough in him to give him game time. He was sent out on loan for two seasons in a row whilst Jones was rattling past 100 PL appearances for us.
Yes, fair play to Morton for a good season in France but he’s less than two years younger than Jones and has taken until he’s 23 to find a permanent home for regular first team football. And part of the reason for that is because Jones is a better player than him.
I don’t really get the Jones hate. Local lad, come through the ranks, been part of teams that have won us the league. He’s not our best midfielder by any means but another who underperformed last season and now some people are ready to bin him off.
Tell me a homegrown player we could buy, who’s better than him and would cost what we’d get if we sold Jones, and then it’s worth a conversation. As it is, we don’t need to be going out and making more problems for ourselves to upgrade a perfectly decent squad option.

Roma have had an offer of 40m euros rejected by Atletico Madrid for 25-year-old Manu Kone. Manchester United and Liverpool are also interested in the France defender. (Corriere dello Sport - in Italian)

Busy, athletic and likes to burst forward with the ball but not much of a passing game

Curtis Jones - England youth international at every age group, 6 England caps.
Tyler Morton - wasn’t called up by England until U20 level, went on to make 13 U21 appearances (7 fewer than Jones). 0 England caps.
As I’ve said before if Jones went to France he would tear it up. He’d be one of the best midfielders in the league immediately.
I love Tyler, dare say I’ve seen him more than anyone else on this board, but he’s not even in the same universe as Jones.

So did Bobby. I remember posting something about his ‘glam’ photos with Rolls etc he posted but no-one else thought it mattered. People just don’t seem to see the value of Curtis and want a shiny new thing. Ironically probably the same attitude of many posh car wankers.
