Seen a suggestion that John Stones might be work a punt on a free transfer

I’ve mixed feelings on this, after suggesting it a while ago. Prem proven, has won the lot, towards the end of his career and so at face value Stones can help Van Dijk bring the new breed through. Seems like a sensible idea.

But then I also read that he has missed over 50 games the past two years due to injury. I didn’t look it up to verify, but from memory he does miss an awful lot of football.

So potentially we would have an expensive wage going to someone who, when called upon, might not be available to play. Since Joe Gomez (smashing player, but the injuries!) is already here, we probably can’t accommodate another in the centre back group with such a patchy injury record.

Edit
I looked it up, and according to Transfermarket, John Stones has missed 58 games over the last two seasons, due to injury. That surely puts an end to the idea of bringing him in!

Looks a talented player with very good technique but likes to play in central areas a lot I think so would maybe take up spaces Wirtz is in and wouldn“t give us that pace on the right.

I thought he played on the right.

He does start on the right but he likes to come in field a lot I think.

he“s not a player to stretch teams and get near the byline and bring it into the box much, for example. From what I have seen. I“d say he“s more of a creative type than a forward if that makes sense. I could be wrong of courase.

But he does look clever and a good passing player.

That may be what we need on the right…someone to feed Isak and Ekitike. We do need some pace as well, however. I just don’t know enough about the player.

Seems like it’s a concrete interest fighting against PSG. Although the initial PSG bid of 34mil was rejected, I don’t think it’s going to take crazy money and that is probably most fans would be comfortable with. Getting a good team is more than just buying flavour of the week but instead it involves a coaching team who can get good players play as a world class unit. That’s exactly what Klopp did and I hope that’s what I hope we can continue.

Seems a bit more concrete than most and an X account that actually belongs to someone who exists.

End of the day PSG are interested, he’s played a fair bit for Monaco he seems decent enough from what I have skim read.

Seems a reasonable transfer.

exactly this… thank you… i would rather we target players like this who have hugh potential and high ceilings, instead of the barcola’s and diomande’s

Did PSG just hack our transfer plans file on our laptop? Every player we want they (seemingly) want. Cunts.

Maybe we are hacking their plans now.

I wouldn“t mind this, you know, from what I have seen. If that is the fee more or less. Provided we had some pace on the left that can score a lot of goals and stretch teams.

I think he“s really clever with a top level technical ability and whilst he might take up some spaces Wirtz does, you“d expect they“d link up well and he“d create for Isak too.

No idea if he is good enough to be our starting right winger but he doesn’t need to be at that fee.

The issue then is, who is going to be our starting winger?

You“d think neither him nor Muñoz would be a suitable replacement for Salah.

Yeah, a right sided Wirtz does seem to be the scouting report on him. Ostensibly starts as the wide forward on the right, but most definitely is not a traditional winger nor does he seem particularly blessed with pace.

Seems an odd choice for a target if that is the case.
