The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 5)

I remember a few. The Brazilian Ronaldo, Baggio and Aaron Ramsey. Admittedly it’s rare but possible.

If nothing else Gakpo’s sale price doubled today.

Gakpo is a good player. In the current climate he is worth 70M of anyone’s money. If Munoz and Rio are slated to cover the left wing, he might well decide it’s time to move on and be a main man, guaranteed starter, somewhere else.

I’m chilled. If he stays he is a good player - better than we saw last season, and that applies to most of them to be fair.

But if he goes, it will be for a sum that we can reinvest and do something useful.

It will be interesting to see what Iraola thinks he can get out of Cody. Slot ball was a disaster for him and Mo who thrive on balls played into space.

I don’t want to alarm anyone, but it looks like Wirtz is on the move… :joy:

According to the Beeb gossip pages:
Chelsea are keeping tabs on Florian Wirtz - who starred under new Blues boss Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen but any potential deal for the Germany playmaker, 23, depends on Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez, 25, leaving Stamford Bridge. [(Football Insider)]

Honestly while I hope he will come good but if Chelsea comes in with the same amount we paid, it will give the management something to think.

Yeah they’ll think long and hard about which font use when they tell Chelsea to fuck off.

No-one is alarmed.

Keep Wirtz and carry on.

That is why I enjoy lamenting how bad football insider is.

I think there is a lot more than just Enzo Fernandez leaving stopping it.

I suppose shoving that in means they can never really be wrong as Chelsea are quoting 100m and if he goes he won’t be going for that.

Loan deal to Italy probably.

Indy Kaila always ahead of the game :joy:

This one isn’t far fetched IMHO. Spurs clearly have had a longstanding interest in the player and they are looking to bounce back from a dreadful season. Plus, if an “important” bid came in I think the club will seriously consider it. He may not fit into what Iraola wants to do.

Not farfetched but would be a little surprising to see happen. We’ve a lot of work already going on with the squad and I still believe he and Kirkez have the potential to be a real handful down the left together. Gakpo also offers some reassurance as cover in the centre too.

Isn’t Nicolo just another Indy though just with a name and face “expert in the transfer market”.

I’d hope that no moves will be made until Iraola has had a chance to properly assess the squad.

There will be, because we don’t have time.

Some individual situations might change (for better or worse) under Iraola, but not everything can go literally from zero again. We are making movement before we touched the training pitch yet and it’s all normal.

What he said is what almost all coaches say when they start. Naturally, we’ll start pre-season with some fringe and younger players, it’s a chance they have to take and take quickly if they want to impress.

The key is that we get the balance right, which we didn’t manage to do last summer.
